Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
Whenever it seems I have my asthma under control I eventually eventually start having flare ups. Today, I was fine under I walked to get a veggie burger and fries. It's very humid out and as soon as I went outside again I felt really short of breath even while waiting for the walk light so I used my inhaler which didn't really help too much. I walked around a grocery store and a few things nothing really heavy. To get to my apartment building I have to walk up a slight hill which only made me feel even worse as if there's a weight on my chest. I used my symbicort a few minutes earlier hoping it would help but so far it hasn't helped much. I'm scared to use ventolin(albuterol) again because the last time I didn't space the extra doses apart I experienced chest pain and a very fast heart rate. I'm not sure if it was related to the ventolin or not since another time I had two dosages within half an hour of each other and never had the same symptoms.I don't have a nebulizer. Maybe I'll wait a little longer and try my ventolin(albuterol) if I still feel this weight on my chest. It's harder to breathe with this pressure.

I am sorry that your asthma is borther you. I know how you feel. I have asthma too. I was born with it. The weather can make you have a asthma attack. My asthma borther me when it too hot outside. Maybe next wait till it was cool out to go outside. Sometime if I walk too fast I can have a asthma attack. There a lot of things can make us have asthma attack. I hope you feel better soon. Hugs

Thankfully after a while the symbicort kicked in and I felt much better. I always seem to have phlegm in my throat. It's probably due to my allergies. Way too many triggers. I miss when I didn't have to be on so many allergy and asthma medications. Thanks for the hugs.

Glad the meds finally kicked in to give you some relief...humidity isn't good for anyone :(

Now if I could just find something that would help my sinuses not always be swollen, the mucus in my throat and the swollen glands in my throat. I am thankfully for my asthma medications and allergy medications.

I've been feeling short of breath just walking around which becomes much worse when I'm walking around. I've been woken up two mornings in a row by really bad asthma attacks. I've been having more congestion lately. I can't see my doctor because the office is closed until September 15th. :(

So much for me thinking your dr was closed just till monday-don't they have another dr covering for them? Should say on their answering service?If not what about one of those after hour clinics?

There is no one filling in when the office is closed, My doctor has had various other doctors filling in but they are only there for a limited amount of time. After hours clinics here can't do any sort of testing.

No the clinics here are like my doctor's office. They can't run any sorts of tests and they don't have breathing treatments. :( They only have what a standard doctor's office has. I've never had them help me really. They can order tests and write prescriptions and usually tell me to follow up with my family doctor. They might see me for 10 minutes.
