Asthma Support Group
Asthma is a disease of the human respiratory system where the airways narrow, often in response to a "trigger" such as exposure to an allergen, cold air, exercise, or emotional stress. This airway narrowing causes symptoms such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, which respond to bronchodilators.
& he said sure you can try it & so started taking it & was much better, until I got sick with a double ear infection & bronchitis at the same time, just got over that & now my asthma is really bad again,so I asked him about another oral med to take with the Singular, but not Prednisone, which puts my blood sugars through the roof,he then said you are you using your inhalers as well, right.
When I said no ,he said why, I told him that we had talked about this berfore, did he remember,I had been using the pulmicourt & bryicinal tubuhalers, but had stopped using them after I had, had 3 life threatening reactions to them,he did not remember, but I remember him saying it would be extremely, unlikely to have a reaction like that to them.
But then, he forgets , I'm the one patient he has, who reacts to stuff ,he has never seen anyone else react to. Then he says, you have to use inhalers & I want you to use it with an areo-chamber,so I told him I would try it & see how it goes.
Anyway this is the second time this winter that I had the same infections at the same time & had to be put on the prednisone to finally get rid of the bronchitis.
The first time was before I started taking the Singulair.
But not to sure about this,(using the puffers )since they, used to always make me sicker, years ago, when I had this problem & thats why,I went to the pulmicoert & the other one.
Anyway that, was way before, he would have been a doctor,as he is very young.
So we shall see.
I took allergy shots for over 20 years & they really did no good for me,my family doctor at that time was so shocked when I told him I was going to go off the shots,he said you will be sooooo sick & have to go back on them, why not just stay on them.
When I told him ,I felt they were not helping me & they are expensive.
So I went off them & was not sick any oftener that I had been, when on them.
But of course we are all diffferent,so far as what helps.
i'm allergic too so many things, that most people can have it's reduculice. eg. black pepper, garlic, most spices,as well as raw carrots, but can eat them, cooked, broccoli, raw & cooked, onions, peaches, green & yellow beans, tomatoes, corn, pork, any & all seafood, just to name a few.
As far as the Drugs I'm allergic too, easier to say the ones,I'm not allergic too.
One doctor in the Emerg. goty really upset with me when i told him I was allergic to Aspirin & said it could save my life,if I was brought in with heart attack & I told him,no it could kill me if they gave it too me & I told him my Dad is also allergic to it & then we later found out that one of my brothers is also allergic to it.
The strange thing, is all three of us are Diabetic, now & 2 of us have Perniciouse Anemia & 2 of us have, had life threating reactions to an ACE inhibitor.
My Mom & other 2 brothers are not diabetic & have had,no life threatening reactions to anything.
There is only one antiboitic, I can take, because I'm allergic to all the rest,& my reactions are anything from severe extreme coughing to life threatening,I have to carry 2 epi-Pens all the time.
Sincerely,

their breath for 10 seconds or more. If
I forget to hold my breath for less than
10 seconds when I use any inhaler the inhaler is not as effective. Occasionally
I use other inhalers the 10 second rule
applie3s there as well. I am glad that
I don't have to use my Albuterol inhaler
of nebulizer very often.
I really neeed to 'just come acoss them' again too.
Many thanx.
