Asperger Syndrome Support Group
Asperger syndrome - also referred to as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's, Aspergers or just AS - is one of five neurobiological pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and is characterized by deficiencies in social and communication skills, normal to above normal intelligence, and standard language development.
I am now set on living my life as I want to. Maybe its a teenage thing.Or thinking young.
No Fear No Limits No Shame. beeen a business man, a lawyer, an accoutant, double graduate. Now am training to be a Psychiatric Workshop Facilitator, teacher, and writer.
Be you its hard but it is only true way to live ones life. Do not be a conformist in a world where conformity is such a sad life of quiet deperation. Passing as normal is not enough and is wrong.
I do not believe that is true for the most part...
we can but I fell it is harder for us because of many factors..
the issues to do with our AS means we may not understand or develope the same as others so the progression is slower and/or perhaps stops for us..
it can depend on the severity of AS symthoms... diagnosis vs nodiagnosis...
and what traumatic or drastic events of our pasts which shape use as individuals to personality or patterns we exhibit
usualy I'm more mature than my peers but in the relationships and emotional realms I'm more sensitive and my though processes seem more like those of a woman..
based on self obsevance of my responses in emotionally stressed relationship situations..
I hope this helped with your question

we think my dad is an undiagnosed aspie and frankly he acts just like u describe ur dad... so idk, maybe we dont ever really mature to the point other people do.
I have a teenage daughter who has aspies and some days you can't tell which one of us is older. I have to act mature sometimes to take care of my child.
Anyway, yah I feel I will always be about 16 years old emotionally.
Can we PLEASE not say things like "has aspies"? Asperger's Syndrome is not like crabs... you don't "get aspies" or "have aspies".
Ack!
not?" it made me laugh and I spit soda on my keyboard. Then I thought I was safe as the conversation turned more serious and took another drink of soda only to read VulcanTourist's comment that "Asperger's Syndrome is not like crabs"...so again with the soda spitting.
That's it...no more drinking and typing for me. But, wet electronics aside...
I went to a symposium last year on social/emotional development in people diagnosed with AS and HFA. The presenter stated that individuals with AS and HFA are only 2/3 their actual age emotionally speaking.
That certainly seems true for my husband and daughter. I guess you can all do the math for yourselves and decide if that is true of you or not.
My nefarious plan didn't work so well, if all I got was one coke-snorter!
this is far better than the hateful crap that is going on in the other groups!!! thanks for the laugh!!
that was so funny!!!!! lol
I used to go out with older guys because I thought they would be mare mature. Then I realised men do not mature so thought go for the young stuff.
Also Mature can mean BORING TEDIOUS AND DUUULLL. Met so many men in the Law who were young foggies middle age at birth.
Quelle bore.
