I have a son with aspergers and a son with autism and they love beign hugged,kissed,massaged and all that mushy touchy feely stuff. not sure if it was because I did it so much when they were babies or what

My son likes being hugged even if at 12 he is getting embarassed to admit it.

As a matter of fact...when he was younger...he especially loved it as it gave him needed proprioceptive input that he craved. He would also squish himself under couch cushions, roll up in blankets and sleeping bags etc. I guess that is why Temple Grandin invented the "hug machine."

is this diffent, with people with autism, I have worked a little and also know people with autism and they seem rather difficult to cuddle, dont really want that closeness. But aspbergers is probably different, lovely to be cddled....massage therapy is good too.....C X

I like holding hands and hugging.

I'd like to find someone I am comfortable cuddling. I would like someone to spoon me from behind so I am hugged by their body.

I don't ever want anything beyond affection.

I dislike physical contact, in general. I work with filthy people and don't like getting ill because of other peoples bad hygiene. I do love a good snuggle occasionally in my adulthood, couldn't stand hugs as a child, but after a minute or two, I get annoyed and restless at the physical closeness.

My son likes to cuddle at times. Sometimes I notice he can only do it so long and then he will go lay on the floor. His normal spot because he is usually playing legos. Sometimes he likes to snuggle at bedtime for a little bit but then other times he doesn't want to be touched at all. Depends on how tired he is. But I have taught him to tell us this politely. Sometimes it's hard to know and I know he will encounter more than this someday when he gets married. I don't want him to be rude just because he needs his space. My sister also has a hard time with this. She is okay hugging and such for so long but then she needs her space. Not real big on touchy feeling stuff. We have always gotten half hugs from her. She also realizes that not everyone is like this and tries to give a little but maintains her own level of comfort also. I commend her for that since she didn't grow up being taught these things specifically. However I am very affectionate. I love to hug and kiss my son. He's so cute! I just love him so much. Then there are days like last week that we were cooking together and he just looked at me and said "I love you" in the sweetest voice and gave me a big hug. I think that was his way of saying he really liked cooking together. :)

Yes, my cosuin like to tiggle on the floor. My godson (one without autism) love kiss.

Yep, I would like this and/or sitting on the same couch or nearby.

I would like to find a companion that is interested in affection only, nothing more. I don't seem to be able to find anyone like myself in this area.

Similar to SiqS, I was uncomfortable giving/receiving hugs as a child. The only way I can describe the feeling when being hugged back then was one of claustrophobia.

I have become a much better cuddler as I have matured, with ones I trust. However, if I am not in the mood, the claustrophobia returns.

Social hugging when greeting people is still awkward for me. But it is not as bad as social kissing, when you kiss one cheek then the other cheek. In am so clumsy at it that I usually end up head butting the other person when moving cheek to cheek.

I don't like being hugged, not even from family members, it really disturbs me. It makes me feel really weird and uncomfortable inside. But i love a massage.

My son loves to cuddle and hugs actually help him calm down and refocus. However, there are certain parts of the body which are not good to touch. He's very sensitve on the top of his head (hair), brushing teeth. He says that it hurts to brush to hard. Therefore, we keep his hair pretty short. He brushes his teeth, but not very well, so we use a mouthrinse and makes sure he flosses. Tickling sends him through the roof with the slightest of touch.

On another note though, hygiene is huge for him. He will not hug someone if they have bad breath, i.e., coffee breath.

My older daughter (HFA) loves to be cuddled and hugged. However, she does not hug like a child would normally...as in, she doesn't put her arms around you. She kind of cuddles like a dog would by getting beside you and leaning in. She's always been like this. Unless you know her well, you wouldn't guess by her behavior of leaning on you that she actually wanted a hug.

I didn't like hugs as a kid. I still don't like hugs from anyone besides immediate family. I love hugs from my husband and kids, but not anyone else really because it seems awkward.

hmmm....to me its like the grass is greener on the other side........at times i feel that i want to hug or be intimate but when it actually happens it just doesnt feel like i thought it would......i miss it when its gone ...but ..yeah....its strange
