As a matter of fact...when he was younger...he especially loved it as it gave him needed proprioceptive input that he craved. He would also squish himself under couch cushions, roll up in blankets and sleeping bags etc. I guess that is why Temple Grandin invented the "hug machine."
I'd like to find someone I am comfortable cuddling. I would like someone to spoon me from behind so I am hugged by their body.
I don't ever want anything beyond affection.
I would like to find a companion that is interested in affection only, nothing more. I don't seem to be able to find anyone like myself in this area.
I have become a much better cuddler as I have matured, with ones I trust. However, if I am not in the mood, the claustrophobia returns.
Social hugging when greeting people is still awkward for me. But it is not as bad as social kissing, when you kiss one cheek then the other cheek. In am so clumsy at it that I usually end up head butting the other person when moving cheek to cheek.
On another note though, hygiene is huge for him. He will not hug someone if they have bad breath, i.e., coffee breath.
I didn't like hugs as a kid. I still don't like hugs from anyone besides immediate family. I love hugs from my husband and kids, but not anyone else really because it seems awkward.
