Hi folks,
I'd like to have your opinion.
I've been very anxious in the last month. My heart beats crazy, I sometimes find it difficult to breath and I even have tickly coughs.
I have it quite often, but mostly at work. My job is often boring, as I don't have many projects coming to my way. Other than that, I like it. It fulfils me when I have projects to work on and I can produce something by the end of the day. My colleagues are very nice, there is no bullying, or anything similar. I'm well paid too.
I also heard that looking at the screen all day might cause anxiety. I have no idea whether that's true or not.
Please give me advice if you can.
Thank you.
Have a nice day!

Pretty much anything can cause anxiety, but I do know that personally sitting in front of my computer for long periods of time makes mine worse. It could be anything from the light of the computer (sometimes changing the colors to a non white background can ease eye strain, helping alleviate headaches), to the project you're working on, or even just having so many windows open, lots of little letters to focus on, and just the "busyness" of it all. You also mentioned that things are slow, which could be causing it. If you feel like you're not doing anything, your brain may be trying to compensate, or like I do, I worry about if they're going to continue needing me if things remain slow.
Are you able to get up about once an hour to refocus? Can you gently let your boss know that you're wrapping up some projects and are ready to take on new ones?
Good luck and I hope that things ease up for you!
Get up, walk around, and do some moving regularly during your work day.
Instead of using description such as boring, practice meditation in the moment (it's easy to look busy when you're meditating, too).
Best wishes!
