Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
A doctor can give you the same meds that are helping 1000 other people. Yet, it may not help you. Doctors have to try different things and tweek doses for each patient. Give the meds time.
Also.... For anxiety and for depression. Change YOUR diet.
Seriously, check the net for what foods will help bring your serotonin levels up and your dopamine level too.
The diet is not drastic. Beef helps, turkey to if its without chemicals. Blueberries and dark leafy green vegetables like spinach. Many things...
But foods and herbs take longer... You need to stick to those foods for at least a cpl. weeks before you see/feel a difference. Don't give up and stay with it.
I wish you the best.... Hugs!
I had shoulder surgery 4-1/2 years ago, got weird nerve feelings that ran down my arm and down my face. and I kept getting that odd dizzy lightheaded Brain fog as I call it. I kept getting past about. Finally got to see a neurologist. He went for the anxiety and depression route since he saw I see a psychiatrist. (I have ADD and Bipolar ll) Well I was having lots of anxiety from no one listening to me or giving me any answers. But that was beside the point. He hit my last straw and I went at him, both barrels. (poor guy) short story, he ordered an MRI of my head. It was something different. Well thank God he did. They found a benign tumor in the middle of my brain. and it wasn't in a good location. 1mm from optic nerve and in cavernous sinus, compressing around my coradid, (I can't spell) artery, and in and around all those other blood vessels and nerves that go to the right side of my face. It was great they found it. But it had nothing to do with my shoulder pain and nerve tingling. But had to put that on hold so I could have Brain surgery. Only 6 months after I had the shoulder surgery. Can you say Stress, anxiety and depression. Mixed with a whole lot of fear. #4 on the brain surgery sign off sheet of all the things that could happen to me from the surgery, was Death.
Ok 4-1/2 years later, I'm still getting the brain fog. Anxiety is the doctors favorite throw out word for anything that can't be explained. Totally sucks for those of us that have to have Anxiety over something that the docs can't find an answer for. Ive been self trial and erroring it for what seems like forever. I started charting and paying attention to what was happening to me before during and after the brain fog. (which for me could last anywhere between 5 mins to a day) Sitting up straight in waiting room chairs or ones like that. My husbands Subaru, turning to quickly from the waste up. Bending over and back. And of course there is the overthinking. I am a professional overthinker. I haven't got it pinpointed yet. but I'm thinking some kind of spine neck thing. Tension combed with stress and anxiety can cause the world of unforeseen crap to the bod. Now I'm totally winging it here. But last week I had that feeling on and off for two days straight. And non of my usual tricks helped, the laying flat, slouching on the couch watching TV or neck stretches. I didn't get it. A couple of times I noticed that when I walked across a parking lot, I felt better. So I thought I would try the treadmill. 20degrees is not walk outside weather. While I was walking and of course running all the scenarios in my head of what this could be. (again) I thought that maybe it was spine related. So I did some back, hip and neck stretches using the bar on the treadmill. to help keep me even on both sides. (oh I get tingling down one side of my body also on and off while this happens. I don't know if you get that) Well the stretches walking worked. I woke up the next morning, with my brain clearer than it has been in weeks. Of course I'm relaxing more now that radiation treatments are over. I've been working on having a more positive outlook on life. (my life has been in short crappy for way to long) the change in mind set helps, but not as much as I was hoping to clear the brain fog. I've done the stretches and walking on the treadmill again as hopefully a preventative action. So far so good. only had a small moment yesterday. nothing today. Of course I can't remember which stretches I do. and I forget to write them down. I do deep slow stretches of the back while hanging onto the bar lean back up straight arms straight, then bend forward, butt back, feet planted and ease chest down, keep back straight, till you feel the stretch. hold count 5 slow back to start. repeat 5. slow controlled lunges, and other stuff like that. I forget which neck ones. But ones that stretch the neck out like a turtle does. only straight up. ??
I have no idea if this will help you or not. Or if you think I'm out to lunch with this. Like I said I'm winging it. The posture thing, I'm going for that next. Ugh. I know you have a stomache thing, but maybe the posture of doubling over in pain and the tension in the muscle from the stress and anxiety is pinching some nerve that leads up to the brain. and short circuits something.
I hate being one of those people that spend hours on the internet trying to self diagnose myself. But no one else is even trying. I'm sorry the anxiety pills just make it so I don't care as much.
But as far as the actual anxiety goes. that is a "gotta get my mind right" thing. Work only on the things that you have control of NOW. not next week or next month stuff. Try journaling. that's the first thing all anxiety programs tell you to do. And most important. Be good and kind to yourself. Do what you need to do for you and your health. If you need to have a down, mental health day. where you do nothing but do whatever you want to do. no pressure not responsibilities. then by all means do it. I call those my OFF days. and I've gotten to a place that I recognize I need one at least once aweek. people now know not to bother me on those days. I'll talk to them if I want to or not. Sometimes I don't even answer the phone.
Ok sorry, I got carried away. It was just so weird when I saw your post and you described how I feel from time to time so well.
My very best of luck to you. Sorry about the stomach stuff. I don't have that. God gave me a tumor instead. "it is a tuuma" :0 :0
Brain crash, lead me to brain fog. I went in to the ladies room washed my face with cold water, and stayed in the quiet for awhile, just breathing and focusing on one thing. (I used the feel of my coat as my object)
Nothing huge here, just wanted to let you know I thought of this and hope it might give some you something else to think about.
