Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

My anxiety is at an all time high, the Fall semester ended December 8th and I'm one step closer to achieving my academic goals. Nevertheless, as of lately I've been an emotional wreck and feel like a failure, I'm so lonely it hurts, I'm 33 years-old and have never had a romantic relationship, never, and I feel as though I'm running out time (anxiety). I have been crying and longing a lot over the past few days, and for what? I know that I will never find love, I mean, lets get real, what man wants a disabled woman with a body thats 95% severely scarred? man want a head turner, not someone who makes you recoil at the mere site of her.
My god, who ever, what ever you are. How could you allow me to exists I am in a world such as this? Would it had been too much to make me of steel, or perhaps stone, why did you allow me to feel?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
But most of the people I know who have found good relationships...were willing to risk a whole, whole, whole lot of failure. They were literally asking out a different person (or two, or three) every week....thus the "want to go get coffee"...line.
They'd ask out the pretty, the ugly, the skinny, the fat, the smart, the stupid, the stuck-up, the shy. Pick a label...they'd get coffee with them.
Few got asked out a second time. Of those asked out...few of those accepted (maybe one in 4). Of those...few went for another date after that.
And the coffee's kept coming. Basically it takes lots of time to find someone. Yes, a few get lucky right off the bat. And a number find someone in their teen's early 20's...but fewer than you'd think. And quite a few of those relationships end badly.
Anyway, good luck, I DO know how painful it is (I was not one of the pretty ones).

I know there's someone out there who loves you. You have to go through a lot of those "not quite a fit" moments to get there, and as hard as it is to look at it in positive funny way, taking the time to see the humor in the effort to be natural in the unusual situation is often a great icebreaker.
I say go for it, and know you have us to help you get through the feelings after the event. That's like all you accomplish, remember the positive, and use that to help you feel natural looking at a new person, ..., no one is perfect.
Best wishes!
Sigh. . .
