I have had anxiety all my life but did not realize it until 25yrs ago. My anxiety attached itself to O.C.D and centers around hurting others mainly hit and run O.C.D. Tonight on the news some woman drove her car into a crowd of people and they are saying possible drug use and possible mental illness.
I am also curious how many people with an anxiety disorder also have another diagnous?
Today has been especially hard with my anxiety. Everyday I usually have some level of anxiety but I am slowly learning to accept it as it is only a small part of me.
Have a nice evening everyone.

Im sure its possible to have multiple anxiety disorders also .Like GAD with agoraphobia for example.
I too hate it when they play the mental illness card when there is a crime or a mass shooting. there are a lot of mentally ill people living among us in society, and they are not all criminals. A vast minority of them are mass shooters, for example. I too hate that shit.
Often, people are not diagnosed until AFTER something serious affects others, and it becomes common knowledge that anxiety, depression, and other conditions were not treated.
Anxiety is natural.
Best wishes in finding your place of calm.
I have anxiety (my mother's nervous system) but have learned to handle it, get UNDER and THROUGH it, with exercise, bicycling and pushing weight in the gym.
There is also a big difference between a mental illness and a mental disorder as well. I have anxiety and OCD but I don't think for a second that my brain is "ill". My brain is awesome. But my personality contributes to some pretty bad thinking patterns that have created my disorder. My disorder is correctable and will improve as much as I myself improve my thought patterns and attitudes. I can't speak for the girl in the car the other day, but these shooters, I think clearly have a problem that extends beyond some bad thinking patterns. You can see in their eyes that their is some illness there and I don't think any amount of cognitive therapy or positive thinking would change that.
Just my thoughts. :)
