Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
hope healing happens here.
Thank you
My overly obvious suggestion is that you attempt to reduce your anxiety which will probably help everything else. There are meds and techniques (e.g. mindfulness, walking, talking about it, writing on DS, support groups) for reducing anxiety that can help.
Maybe a counselor or reading about the techniques can help you sort through what might work.
In the meantime, sending support your way.
I don’t know if being so sick for a full week with COVID aided in this feeling.
But I really don’t know what to do right now to get out of this rut. I like the evenings when I know bedtime is coming and I can veg out in bed.
I just feel like around every corner for me is another problem or issue I have to deal with.
I’m tired. I’m sick out everything. I think also leading up to holidays I dealt with caring for my dog that had surgery. He was a handful. I was primary care giver. Then I had everyone home , which is what I wanted but it took slot of work (all me) to prepare. Then the overall trip ended bad (with the fight the kids had). Then I was left with the after math of cleanup as well as putting all decor away. THIS all while having COVID.
So I’m tired. And sad and all around just want o go pull covers over my head.
I worry about so many things. I have a couple of things right now and these worries just take me down, really.
Just take a step back and breathe… it sounds silly, but pausing and breathing (both literally and figuratively) is not only very calming, but somehow makes a big difference.
It sounds to me that you have burnt yourself out. You need to just take some time off. What this entails depends on what level of sadness you feel and whether you need outside help or not. I have in really dark times had to book myself into mental wellness clinics. For my own safety. But taking time off could also just mean that you do actually just veg out in bed for a while. Or go to the spa for some pampering or book a weekend away, doesn’t matter where, but to get away and rest. Depending on their age, maybe find someone else to take care of the kids for a couple of days. Arrange for them to have a sleepover, however it works.
I don’t know your situation, but often times we are so focused on what we HAVE to do or what we tell ourselves we have to do because others depend on us, that we can’t see the bigger picture. Which is that you are of no use to anyone if you work and worry yourself to the point where you cannot function. You depend on yourself too, even if you don’t always realize it, and your happiness is important too. So what makes you happy? What is it that YOU need for yourself to function in a way that you are not just coping, but thriving. If you are happy it will have a ripple effect on things around you.
(One other thing, we sometimes feel like the world stops if we’re not there to make things happen or run smoothly, but that is not true, people will be okay without you for a while. It may even help them to see you taking care of you for a change. Nobody will judge you or be angry for you loving yourself too. Also a great example of self love for your kids.)
