Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Today is my second meeting with my new therapist. What I'm most anxious about is that I have to eat lunch right before I leave for the appointment. And when I'm this anxious I get nauseous. And since I have to take public transportation, I have to leave an hour before the appointment. And I won't have much time, if any to talk about my problems with my therapist today--she said she's going to do some kind of assessment. So I'm anxious about that too. Also next week I have to undergo an oral surgery procedure awake, to "excise some tissue", a bump in the front of my mouth that's been keeping me awake at night, since I had all of my upper teeth extracted. When I had the extractions done they gave me Ativan in the AM before it was done, but this time they didn't prescribe that and I didn't think to ask. I plan to call them on the phone to ask but they're kind of hard to get ahold of (the medical people at the oral surgeon's office). I'm really anxious about having that done. I'm truly phobic when it comes to any dental procedure.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Hope you find what works for you, Carol. It sucks when the tummy goes rogue.
Light, bubbly beverages help as well because they cause you to burp, thereby relieving stomach tension. Try a little sprite or ginger ale.
My full empathy. I've dealt with anxiety tummy issues for weeks on end before. Not fun at all.
Writing it out is important and you're on the right track to help keep your focus "in the moment".
Best wishes.
