Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Going on about a month of waking up every single morning with anxiety. The trigger was my cat being diagnosed with kidney failure. It was determined he was only in mild failure though and was stable. But the trigger had already happened and once that wasn't an issue anymore my brain began searching for things to be upset about. It moved onto worry for my senior dog and anticipation of his death someday. I have now moved on to an obsession with comparing my life to others lives and not feeling good enough, not having enough friend (everyone else has 20 I have like 2) and just constant intrusive thoughts of being unworthy of life. I start therapy on the 16th. I hope it helps. Medication isn't helping much anymore. I have had depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember but this is unbearable and I'm at my wits end.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

Therapy is a great first step. I myself being therapy the 15th and I am hopeful that it will help me find the peace I need. I sympathize with your post. I too share these emotions at time. I don’t have many ”friends” or an incredible social life. It can get pretty lonesome at times, but I do embrace those who I have close to me that will always be there for me and that seems to satisfy that feeling. Remember we never really know what others’ realities have in store for them, therefore how can we know if our lives are less worthy than theirs?
A voice of reason once told me to jot down on a journal the pros and cons in my life. Anxiety clouds or judgments and doesn’t allow us to embrace the things that make us happy. You will find some amazing people with encouraging words on this forum. I wish you nothing but serenity and peace.
I notice mtd mentioning this book, which I just ordered on Kindle.
Just like you Makkam, I have things that send me into a spiral. And I am super sensitive. I also just had my mother pass away and I have empty nest syndrome. I have 2 dogs and a cat and I worry about their health constantly!
I also do not have many friends, and I go to therapy and am always asked about that. So I feel what you are saying.
I just joined this group the other day, and I write in it pretty much every day.
I hope this group stays active becasue it really helps to write it out.
So needless to say I HATE THE MORNINGS! I was waking weepy and anxious, now for some reason, it has turned to mostly anxiety or almost panic when i wake. So I get it, when does it end?
You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
Anxiety is natural and is a helper. Finding the balance to where it is useful and not overwhelming is possible.
Caring for animal companions gives a natural balance for calming through movement, observation, and being in the moment with them.
Best wishes you find your better balance and enjoy the precious time with your animal companion.
