I'm OK in a plane, but have found journeys on Bus, or Train quite difficult at times due to the lack of air, or me perceiving the lack of air?

Perhaps I've conditioned myself due to the physical affects I've suffered in the past due to a lack of oxygen. Interesting.
Maybe your anxiety disorderf has ZERO to do with your thyroid issue as NO ONE on this planet kn ows the cause of GAD or OCD! NO ONE!!!!! My GUESS is that they are just neurobiological disorders,,,,,,,,
Also, people who fear being in elevators suffer from claustraphobia (sp?), a common anxiety disorder and many people fear flying,,,,,,,it has ZERO to do with oxygen and CO2 levels!

Your OCD does NOT cause anxiety!!!!! It is the opposite,,,,,OCD is caused by anxiety/fear!!!! Remember, OCD is an anxiety disorder,,,,,,anxiety is NOT an OCD disorder!

I would bet anything that your Graves disease and hypoer thyroid has ZERO to do with your GAD,,,,,,where is your scientific research to back your theory up???!!!!

Moving right along...My anxiety stems from childhood trauma. Hence the CPTSD Dx.

Thats why I believe about 80% that we have no hope. Thats just me tho.
From what I can tell you have some issues of your own so why not try to help yourself and others that are suffering with a positive attitude- your negativity has no place here. And until you have as much education as a therapist- I'll go with my theory that my fathers death triggered my anxiety. Show me one kid that suffered such a loss at a young age that doesnt have any issues. It may not be anxiety but it's probably something else.
Drug use CAN and DOES trigger anxiety disorders in people. It is listed as a possible cause of PTSD, so no doubt it can cause GAD.
I don't think it's a far stretch of the imagination to believe that these psychotropic drugs can alter our body chemistry and result in disorders such as GAD and PTSD.
I mean, half the drugs they put us on to cure our anxiety have anxiety listed as a possible side effect!
