Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
runningonempty seems a bit angry about things. And you are quite wrong runningonempty, about quite a few things.
Peoples idea of what causes his/her condition is not something you can say is wacky. Just because they don't affect you or someone else in the same way does not make them less of an issue to that person. WILD gueses you say, this is people who are expressing factors which may have led to their anxiety WILD, hardly.
Of course I don't think anyone can say exactly what is the cause, because usually there are other factors involved but in a lot of peoples lives, but there are factors, and this is why science can't be specific, of course little is known about all the functions of the brain, even now in our technological world.
On the taking of pot I know for a fact in predisposed people it can trigger psychosis. being very stoned on pot can lead predisposed people to anxiety so again runningonempty you are wrong. I once had a very ugly experience on weed, it was at the time I developed my anxiety and possibly triggered due to environmental issues as I made on the first post of this thread.
People are not threatened by your written style runningonempty they just think your bloody rude.
Runninonempty, you have intelligence and good ideas. Try to be a little more sensitive when you present them. We are anxious enough without being made to feel that you are laughing at everything we say. You will get more respect with kindness.

Exercise helps me get out of that mental cave. Helps me think of solutions when all I seem to be presented with are problems.
It's a matter of digging down deep and relaxing, feeling comfortable in the dark mental cave. Yoga and meditation helps too.
It's also a matter of finding pleasure in little things, and bigger things too (like the scantily-clad ladies in last night's CBS Victoria's Secret supermodel pageant).
I then feel anxiety to perform like a monkey... sucks that whole looking for approval from people really impacts my ability to be in large groups and talk...
Well, I had a second baby and had some post partum depression that I didn't deal with and then I had kept on going with my perfectionism when I had a small health crisis. And then another one and they piled up and started the monster I am currently battling.
I have to change my thinking and live a more Zen "in the moment" kind of existence because constantly worrying about "what's next" or "what just happened" is doing nothing for me but making me sick.
It's going to be hard, but I think the way I've been thinking and talking to myself is what created my anxiety.
I have become accustom to constantly living in the midst of some kind of family or personal crisis, so now as an adult in my mid 20's, I am always waiting for the next crisis to arise. It really is a terrible way to live, and I hope one day I can grow out of it and become a stronger, happy person.
