Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Am I out-of-line to wonder if you suffer the "What If" syndrome that runs through my own birth family like a psychotic freight train? It was one of the first dysfunctions my therapists targeted in my early psychotherapy. I used it to drive myself to Crazy Land and beyond by imagining more horrible what ifs than any one life can possibly hold. My birth family still dearly loves the game. They specialize in doom and gloom. At least they will be well prepared when the aliens arrive with the zombie virus. Theoretically. . .
Just wondering. Please forgive me if I am out of line.
Gentle support while you survive the bewildering halls of High School. May the effort pay big dividends in the long run.
Im currently 19 and in college! I personally have never dated anyone, been kissed or even held hands with someone romantically (this might seem sad I know)
While I'm also a case of can't socialize for hell and an only child it really isn't that bad.
Lonely? yes at times, other times I'm so happy to have that freedom.
You just have to believe that life is gonna turn out the way it is supposed to, and I know its impossible but don't worry! You still have your entire life ahead of you :)
This came from a horrifically dysfunctional family (I called us the functional dysfunctional family).
I dated a few "narcissistic" boys in high school.....but it would only make sense since I was raised by two narc parents.
I ran away from home right after I graduated from high school and married my narc boyfriend who abused me for 27 years before I realized that since I did not address my deep issues, they only followed me until I was forced to face them.
I divorced my narc husband which was the divorce from hell (5 years and 3 months long.....he sued me twice with 2 bogus lawsuits......he lost but refused to divorce me until I payed. I only paid to get away from him).
Sadly he turned our 3 grown children against me.
My dad died 6 years ago and I was left to take care of my elderly narc mom up until 2 months ago when I cut all ties with her. The stuff she has done to me is criminal and highly abusive, but I tried to tough it out until I lost my health and she drained most of my savings.....so I had no other choice.
I have been divorced for 9 years now and am happily single :)
Through all the pain and picking bad partners just so I wouldn't have to be alone taught me that I need to love and respect myself FIRST.
I have been spending a lot of time alone and getting to know myself and love myself.......every part of myself.
I have come to a point in my life that if I find someone.....great. If I don't find someone......great!
I would rather be alone and happy than with someone for the wrong reasons and be miserable (been there, done that......over it...lol).
My shiny nickels worth to you is to really get to know yourself. Love and respect yourself first. Ask yourself what you have to offer a relationship and why you want one. You should be happy first and then find someone to SHARE your happiness and not rely on someone to make you happy as happiness is an inside job.
Once you really authentically love yourself and rely on supporting and taking care of yourself, you will attract that relationship as like attracts like.
Just relax and get through high school for now. Try to figure out what you want for your life and then go get it!!!! The relationships will come. Don't try to force it as it will backfire every time.
Being alone is not bad and in time you will come to appreciate the alone times :)
Take care and love and light to you!
