I quit my job last year for a combination of primarily two reasons- my wife had trouble after her operation and my boss told me that if i didnt pass a test that was upcoming that i couldnt work there anymore.
My wife had an operation with anesthesia, this had a mental reaction and messed her up mentally. This has happened in the past with childbirth and it happened again with this elective surgery. So she couldnt do much first because of the physical trauma from surgery and then as she got better physically, she started to suffer from the effects from anesthesia on her mind. In the past, this could last for months. We have three children and it was largely up to me to work full time and do everything else. It was very difficult.
Also, my boss had told me for the third time that if i didnt pass the certification test then i would not be able to work there anymore.
Well, my logic told me that i might as well quit and study for the test because we had a significant amount in savings and i thought that i would be able to get a job within a few months. So here it is 9 months or so later and I still dont have a job. I have had rejections. Right now I have a possible interview but am waiting for confirmation and I am worried.
Also, not long after I quit my job, my wife filed for a divorce. She said it was because I quit my job. I worked hard to convince her to reconcile. I really love her but it was really frustrating at times.
So now at times I am a wreck. I am very anxious at times.

There are so many nice pictures on Facebook with everyone saying they reconnected with old friends. But let me tell you, I am glad it is behind us. We all put a lot into it. We are having a lunch meeting next week, which I am looking forward to. Yesterday was...

I am sorry about your job and your wife. I hope that things will work out. Think positive thoughts and see yourself succeeding. God is always with you so with Him on your side, you will succeed! Do you have unemployment? I think unemployment benefits give you 18 months with the Obama changes. You are getting interviews so you are getting good practice with your interview skills. Take another look at your resume, revamp if necessary. Put your resume out there on the Internet like Monster.com. Word of mouth helps too. Talk to your friends and keep your ears open.
Good luck and best wishes!
When a person gets comfortable with a high pay lifestyle and unemployment happens, the first place the complaint is made is going to be about the change in high pay lifestyle.
Hopefully, your relationship works out and everyone heals.
The best gift you can give yourself is to be positive, stand successfully, and know you are doing the right thing for your own well-being. Show confidence in the interview, be strong, and best wishes on your success!
You can do this!
Best of luck to you...
