Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. New here, I don't know how this site works. I just needed something...someone even virtually to talk to? I mean, I've talked to a couple of friends, who are experiencing the same thing. I've been to a Psychiatrist before too, was on meds. But I'm trying a different approach now. Lately, I've been feeling that I'm gonna lose it. I know a lot of you here will get what I mean...I try to do my normal routine everyday, the normal stuff...but there's this nagging feeling/thought inside me that makes me freeze up for a few seconds and makes me feel weak and cold. The thought of going crazy...I always tell my husband these things, in detail. And at times, I'm afraid that he's just tired of hearing it you know...but he says differently, and I'm thankful. I guess what I really want to know is..anybody here who has a go to something when they feel like their head is 'too noisy' or if they feel like they're spiraling down...? I appreciate it.

My anxiety is chronic and intense enough that I need a whole toolbox full of anxiety management tools, but the first tool out of my box is always breathing. Getting my oxygen intake regulated is essential to clearing my thought processes far enough to find the next tool. Sometimes just regulating my breathing is enough to do the trick.
Is it lucky for me that I don't have to worry about going crazy? I'm already there and have been for long enough to be the mayor of Crazy Town. I often think the citizens of Crazy Town are saner than the citizens of Saneville, especially since the Corona Crowning. Being mayor of Crazy Town doesn't make the anxiety symptoms any more pleasant, but it gives me one less thing to worry about.
