Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hey all. I'm a little over 4 weeks into treatment with 30mg Rameron and low dosages of Klonopin to help manage my symptoms. Although I've made some progress, I have not achieved remission. I'm trying to stay positive, because I'm not sure when, or if, it will ever happen. I would really hate to think that I'm stuck like this. Especially considering that I've never experienced anything like this previous to June. I journal every day. I meditate. I practice mindfulness and breathing exercises. I speak to a therapist every week. I take my meds on time every day....and still....every morning I wake up with these anxious feelings. Will I ever be my normal self again? Is it possible that the meds need more time? Maybe I just need some encouragement, or personal experiences regarding antidepressants and the timeline in which it took to fully kick in. I would greatly appreciate it. I need some hope

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Keep writing it out. That's the best way to release the words, feelings, emotions, and thoughts.
When you are diagnosed with GAD, it's going to take a bit of work to figure out what might be the best for you.
My experience was immediate relief in the worst symptom and the next one popped up and it kept going from one to another until I was able to find a calm in one area for a starting balance to work with. The use of the daily journal provided a timeline for what worked best when.
You are not alone. Take a short walk outside and observe nature. You are normal, with anxiety ranging in acute and high level. Anxiety is natural, so you'll be able to get it back into a better balance.
Best wishes.
You're doing great!! There's no - one size fits all - when it comes to anxiety relief. At one month, you are just about entering the good part of the medication. It can take 6 weeks, maybe 8 weeks. I remember when I tried Zoloft, I felt only a little something at one month. So, hang in there, and keep doing what you're doing. Sounds like you are doing all the right things.
I know what you're saying though... I want to wake up one day and be completely how I used to be. Please be patient. It may not happen in one day, but you will start to see a few days of feeling great again, then maybe one bad day, then 5 more great days, then 1 bad day, etc. It's hard to be patient, but patience is your best friend right now.
Knowing the initial trigger from June might be helpful... have you and your therapist been able to figure out what happened in June? It doesn't have to be an event that happened, it could've been just a thought you had. Was it anything to do with the pandemic?
I wish you well. You're going to be fine!
Thank you for your reply. I feel like I'm made some improvement from a month ago, but it's still very uncomfortable. I wake up like this every day, but some days are more manageable than others. I can't think of anything specifically in June that would trigger this, and can't think of anything that continues to trigger it. I just don't get it. Although I'm always afraid that I'm stuck like this and I don't seem to know why. Today is a tougher day than yesterday, and I seem to do better by nightfall. I'm not sure what to think about it because none of it makes sense to me. Everyone else seems to have triggers, where mine just feels like it's forced. I'm officially 4 weeks and 4 days into treatment, and I'm not exactly sure what I'm supposed to be experiencing at this point. I only just moved up to the full 30mg dosage of Remeron last week. I'm hoping to see more results soon, because I can certainly use some relief from all of this.
The reason I ask is because the other area I had to work on was the night time routine to ease into the night. You might have to do a morning routine to ease into the day.
Best wishes. You are not alone.
The only thing I can think of is that my father and sister passed away in Oct and Nov of 2019, but I felt like I was processing it fine. I just remember one day in June I felt "off" and then it progressively got worse and worse until it was intense, and every single day. I try to keep a morning routine that eases me into my day, but these feelings are persistent, and only really managed by low dosages of Klonopin spread out through the day (.25mg at a time. It's rare that I need to take more than 2 or 3 doses a day.) I felt like my days were becoming more manageable, and then today it seems like it is back with a vengeance, and not much is helping. I really don't understand any of this, because it's just there all of the time. I also don't know what realistic expectations are regarding how I should be feeling after 4 weeks into treatment. There is improvement from a month ago, but it is still a struggle
As for being where you're supposed to be, that's a tough call. Have you talked to your doc about it? Maybe they'll want to up your dosage again (and remember, you can always go back down in your dosage, or off meds altogether in the future).
I had to to mKe sure that it wasn’t myself who was writing these post. I am feeling the same way, in every way you are. I’ve been on lexapro for three weeks now. I’ve been told it could take 4-6 weeks maybe longer. I’m going to doctor tomorrow to just see.
When you said the mornings are the worst and then by night you are doing somewhat better. That is totally me. I knew something was going on when I was waking up with shaking, fear and just not right. Every morning is the same. I have no appetite at all. I’ve lost weight. Which worries me. I have to force myself to eat anything.
I like you, feel will it ever get better, will I feel normal again. I want to see some relief. It is ever so EXHAUSTING. I’m here for you. Talking it out helps. Listening to others stories sure helps.
