i just put the munchkins on the bus for the last half day of the school year. while i breathe a sigh of relief that the end of school pressures are all complete (knock wood), i shiver at the prospect of 24/7 childcare demands for the next 3 months. will i be able to squeeze in my daily nap? i seem to be increasingly covinced that daily naps will be an essential ingredient in the drive keep my 70 year old bones available to these munchkins through high school. the baby is class of 2037. dare i dream of attending her college graduation? summer road trip? do i have to? the view from the porch quite literally rocks my world. theme parks and video arcades? i am tired to tears at the very thought.
just venting and sorting. no advice, please. the books are all available. commisuration welcome.

fun side note

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.
thank you, serenity. commiseration appreciated. the baby of my first family --and departed father of these children-- graduated in 2002. by his senior year, the nest already felt pretty empty. i celebrated by planning my first language immersion tour of south america. it rocked and gave me hope that there really is life after motherhood.
remembering that 17 years of empty nest often gets me through the exhausting days.
