Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
So, I woke up yesterday, and my fish died. Yeah I know it's really not a big deal cuz they die all the time. It was the fact she had died. Just passed on, just like that. No words or body language of goodbye. Just gone. And there is this hole in my heart that I don't like very much. It just sits there, feelings cold and lonely. I have tried to think of what it could be. All I can think of is I miss my friend. She was just a little thing when I brought her home. She had beautiful colors and seemed happy in her tank. For almost a year she was my little friend that I would feed, clean, and enjoy everyday. Now I look at the empty tank and miss her swimming up to me on an hourly basis insisting she never got fed. Part of me wants to go out and get another fish, and the other part of me is tired of the disappointment when they die for no reason. Just out of the blue, gone. My partner wants to get some rats, which we love too. But I don't want them to die either. So either way I'm holding my partner back from getting anything, because I don't want them to die. When I know everything has to die at some point in time in life. Because if everything lived we would be grossly overrun with things, wheather it be human or otherwise. It's just really sad when it happens. Maybe we feel pain to get prepared for something bigger. Like everytime we feel pain, it's us growing in spirit. And our bodies are so small they can't take that kind of growing so it hurts. I don't know, it's just how i"m looking at it right now. Maybe it's a childish way of looking at things, but it's easier to be a child about somethings than being an adult and not understanding. I would rather see things through childrens eyes, then be an adult and not see them at all. Just sayin........

Gentle support while you process the loss, Hippo. The hardest part of loving critters is that we outlive most of them. My 2 year old donkey will probably outlive me, and I find myself feeling guilty that he will be the one suffering the pain of loss when I go, or? ? ? Maybe I'm suffering delusions of grandeur over my own importance in **his** life? Any excuse to self-flagellate?
I had multiple rats in my life. They are amazing creatures and so smart. But they usually only live about 3 years and develop tumors before they die. It's really sad but remembering that you gave them a good life and how happy they made you, is worth it in the end.
