General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

H.A.L.T. works when I work it.
You to feel tired. I think with having anxiety it's harder to sleep and feel well rested the next day. The one thing that seems to help me is a nap. I know you have been going through a lot with your wife. And that doesn't help with your anxiety. But I think your doing a great job. And I'm sure she appreciates you. That's very kind and thoughtful of you to take care of her when she needs you. Great guy!!!! My doctor recommended a sleeping pill which I refused. I told him that I will rest when needed. I don't really like to take pills. That's just me. Everyone is different. Thanks for your comment. Italianmomma4ever
I think your absolutely right Arfie. There's no doubt in my mind that it makes mine worse too. I have to remember your advice about, H.A.L.T.
Being hungry makes me not feel good either. So I do eat. When I'm angry my anxiety is real bad. And tired it's pretty bad too. I stay busy so I don't feel lonely. I will keep those four suggestions in mind next time I'm feeling my anxiety spiking. Thank you. Great help!!! Italianmomma4ever
It's nice to meet you. Yes I totally agree with you about not sleeping. It does give you more time to think about things that you really shouldn't be thinking about in the first place. And sure that will add more fuel to the fire. Try to distract yourself by doing something. Go out for a walk, or do a hobby. Just staying busy will help keep those thoughts away. Thank you for your comment. Italianmomma4ever
I sent you a friend request. And welcome to the DS. Lots of nice people here that give great advice. Here's to getting better sleep. Italianmomma4ever
I have to take time to sit and rest when I'm overwhelmed. Just taking the time to stop, pause, and breathe reminds me to drink to stay hydrated, eat for more energy, to process feelings in a safe way, and if I'm still sleepy, to close my eyes and be calm.
Lack of sleep creates chaos in my thinking, which makes my anxiety more obvious, and leads to so many unintended consequences.
I have found that when I'm unable to sleep at night, to be in a darkened room helps me to relax to where I can rest. If the thoughts are racing, showing in full movie surround, depending on how awkward I feel, I will read a book, play a game, or walk the hallway.
During the day, when I feel sleepy, I get up and take a walk outside. It gives me energy to either eat, drink, or do the activity that I need to get done.
Good discussion!
Yes I love Arfies idea about H.A.L.T. I too have to sit down and rest and gather my thoughts. Stop, Pause, and breath. Love your thinking too. I eat for sure and drink lots of water. And take a snooze when needed. When I can't sleep at night I will watch T.V. or read until I start to dose off. Then I go to bed. I have been doing a lot of walking. It's beautiful outside. And afterwards I will eat and drink. So I can go on with my day. Thank you for liking my discussion. Sleeping is something I have struggled with since I have had anxiety. Here's to better sleep. Just wanted to add, that I think I drink too much water. That's another reason I'm up at night. Using the bathroom. I need to cut the water off at a certain time. That would help with that problem.
Could little stuff confuse and set me off? Hell yeah. I have decades of burnt experiences to solidify that.
Get some rest. Take naps if you must. If not sure, be sure of this: It can't hurt. :|
It's nice to meet you. You to don't sleep much either. 4 hours isn't really a lot. I would say mine is broken sleep a few hours here a few hours there. It sounds like you have a bad hangover after only that much sleep. Lol. I can relate to the littlest things that will piss me off. I have lots of experience in that department. Taking a nap is a must if I need it. And I do. I to hope you can get some rest. And maybe nap also. Thank you very much for your comment. Here's to better sleep. Italianmomma4ever

You are a force to be reckoned with when you learn how to channel your energy correctly. This is how you develop resilience. I thought that was pretty interesting and made a lot of sense.
