I have found some relief in accepting and managing the attacks instead of fighting them and/or trying to outrun them. With gentle acceptance, I have been able to find and am on my way to mastering therapy tools which let me do and enjoy things other than bouncing from attack to attack. Those tools aren't an instant fix. They take time to master, but they are worth the effort.
As for the feeling worse than before. . . When I fight my anxiety, I never let myself feel its full extent. I *suck it up* whatever way I can. Of course it feels worse for a while when I first lose the denial. The whelming passes.
Thank you all for your messages. I met with my psychiatrist today and she told me to stop prozac, and I will be starting lexapro. Fingers crossed with this one! She did give me stuff for anxiety in the meantime and sleep too.
