Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
If you've been doing well for 4 weeks off of them, then you should be just fine now as far as the medication tapering.
Are you in any kind of therapy for your anxiety? I take medications daily, and talk to my therapist by phone once a week. I find it helps me to have a professional to talk to. As well as being on support groups like this one. I can tell my therapist anything and everything, and we make goals, and deal with any current stresses I am having.
I guess what I'm saying is that you might need some coping mechanisms for your anxiety and depression. Do you do anything that helps with your anxiety?
It sounds like your anxiety treatment is really good GirlinCalif. Whilst I was on my antidepressants I got a Behavioural activation therapy course and that was it. My employer has given me a wellbeing app which is helping and I can talk to counsellors on there but I didnt get any regular therapy. I hold my anxiety in my body, when it bad I feel it all over so exercise helps a great deal.
By the way, in answer to your question, I was on venlafaxine for a few years.

That's a great idea about exercising. I find taking walks helps me a lot with stress, anxiety, and just with everything. I hope that you will include exercise/walking into a daily, or every other day, routine. They say exercise helps with anxiety, depression, stress, and I have found it to be true. Doing it outside is even better, if your weather allows it.
I'm glad the app is helping you.
I personally take 500 mg of Taurine 2x a day for my anxiety. Which is health challenge related, chronic pain related. I don't handle antidepressants well or they have lactose in them and I am allergic to milk. I had a course of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and that really helped me rethink how I think. I can challenge my stinking thinking, the fear, the anxiety and come out the other side. I still slide into the negative issues sometimes but now I recognize my old friends and know what to do, what to try today.
So anyway, welcome, stick around, use this forum as your helping resource.
