Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Happy Monday to everyone,
I am new to the group but I’ve been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks since I was a kid. I tried almost everything to help alleviate some of the symptoms that come along with anxiety. I started feeling hopeless that I would always feel like I couldn’t live a regular life. I still struggle, but I set small goals for myself to overcome the symptoms of anxiety. i,e. The gym, getting out of the house, and connecting with friends or family.
For me, my triggers were mainly social situations, but here I am today..just finished my masters degree and soon to be a teacher. The reason I share this is because I was told by teachers in high school I wouldn’t amount to much since I rarely went to class (mostly to avoid panic.) Don’t get me wrong, school for me was hell at times but I pushed through the fear. Public speaking? Oh my gosh I still feel like I’m going to faint just thinking about doing it... but I still got through it.
My point to this crazy rambling is that people with is anxiety are much stronger than they give themselves credit for. If you’re currently struggling with anxiety there is hope as long as you keep going. Be kind to yourself, anxiety is no easy struggle. It’s awesome that people are on this site, brave enough to share their struggles :)

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
The difficult task with social anxiety is that it does affect everyone in different ways. Finding a calm zone that works no matter where you are is excellent to give you a balance that works.
Best wishes!
All the best
