My anxiety wakes me up. Not sure if my mind begins to stir before I'm aware of it, but lately i can barely sleep. When you worry or panic, your body dumps adrenaline into the bloodstream, which makes you more nervous and the panic begets more panic. it sucks.
mindfulness is one of my tools for managing my anxiety. the sooner i catch the cycle, the easier it is to remediate. the longer i practice mindfulness, the more skilled i become at catching and disrupting the cycle early before it escalates to all those other gnarly symptoms. i have been practicing mindfulness for long enough that often i can catch the cycle from the initial trigger.

Heart palpitations, rapid heart rate, chest tightening and pain, shortness of breath, headaches, muscle aches and pains all over, dizzy/lightheaded, distorted vision, GI discomfort, hair loss. Teeth clenching i don't realize im doing. I have a bad back, and notice my back is impacted more by it due to muscles tightening from anxiety. I also start to feel like I am getting sick.
I have a demanding job and anxiety significantly increases with stress.
When I'm feeling free of anxiety I feel normal and don't experience anything except an aftermath of soreness and dealing with knots all over in muscles. I have a massager I'll use and it helps a ton.
But same here, I kind of recognize the feelings or my thoughts patterns pretty early on before they get wildly out of control and am able to apply some techniques I’ve learned to head them off or at least make manageable.
