Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I cant seem to just let myself be happy. It's always on to the next thing. I spent the last two years so focused on making it to graduation , that i neglected everthing else in my life. I just graduated, entered a job in my field, and got engaged to my boyfriend of 9 years. Why am i so sad and lonely all of the time lately? My one close friend in this area has changed into a complete flake. How can i really blame her when i feel like i just took a two year hiatus on our friendship to focus on school. I have been avoiding leaving my house on days off, getting more and more socially awkward, and not putting as much effort into caring for my home and my relationship. I just feel stuck in this awful rut. Any confidence i had, just gone.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Your post gave me flashbacks to the portion of my psychotherapy which dealt with my continual flights into the future. My synopsis of that psychotherapy dealt with running from my past so hard that I kept running right past today into my goals and hopes for the future. The demons I was running from were mean enough to keep me running past those goals and hopes, as well. I still haven't graduated college. I was in my 50's for my last attempt and. . . Sigh. . . The School of Hard Knocks remains my one true Alma Mater.
I did better on the goal of letting myself be happy, though. "Gratitude Lists" are my primary tool for finding the courage to smile, whatever the chaos swirling around me.
Exercise works especially when you walk outdoors with sunlight. Sunlight is good for uplifting someone’s mood. You can also check with your doctor to know the best treatment of the symptoms you are having.
Thank you for sharing. I pray that you will feel better soon. Keep us posted.
Congratulations on your graduation and your engagement. God bless.
