Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi,
I’m not sure if this would be the right group...I have been crying every day, more than once.
The main reason why I have been worse lately are my parents. I am in my mid 40s they are in their early 70s.
My parents completely broke any little trust I still had left on them, when several years ago they covered my H cheating, they both new, they allowed it to go for a very long time, and neither one of them cared to tell me.
Once I found out back then, about the cheating, both my parents admitted (back then) that they knew.
Going forward...several years went by, then just a couple of months ago, the past came back into conversation, for my surprise they didn’t only had the nerve to tell me, now, that they didn’t know back then until D day....then when I finally got them to admit they were lying ...,they added up that if it was to happen again they would once again cover it all up from me and they would never tell me that I was being cheated. They told me right on my face that what they did several years ago was the right thing and they would Stand by that decision, even if it happened again.
THis only confirmed what I have suspected all this years, they never regretted a little bit .
One thing about my parents, they are old school, to them is shameful o have a divorced daughter, I think this is why they think what they did is right.
My problem is a very old and painful wound was reopened. It feels like my parents are betraying me again.
for people who have been cheated, they know how hard and painful it is. In my case it was not only my H, it was my own family: parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, in-laws....every knew, no one told me, and I fell sick in the emergency with something I caught from my H.
I ‘m not saying I had it harder than anyone else, every cheating situation is unique...but I’m my case, it felt like every one in the family cheated on me.
Now with my parents telling me this, I have been dragged down once again, there are other past issues with them, but out of everything this is the most painful and worst.
My relationship with them has been affected once again, this time I don’t know if it can be repaired. My life bacme miserable once again, consequently I am giving both of them a big hard time with my mood swings, I cannot bare the sound of their voices, every little thing makes me snap at them and I am not able to be the daughter they expect of me.
I started seeing a therapist again, but some days are so hard to get by, the pain a deceit are back.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I've been married 39 years and still don't quite get the traditional "Cheater" logics, so I'll steer clear of that part, much less whether your parents can be forgiven their crimes, at any age. I mostly wanted to welcome you aboard.
I am so sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing. I understand how it can be so painful when we feel as if we have been betrayed by loved ones.
I am glad to hear that you are seeing a therapist; that shows that you have real courage to share your struggles.
I will tell you from experience that, as painful as it may be, restoration of relationships is always possible through forgiveness. I know it is not easy and may not even sound desirable, but I believe it is worth it.
Let us know how you are doing. You are in my prayers, friend.
Regarding my Husband, we are still together, he left the other woman when he realized that I was actually walking out with the kids. It took a great deal of time, commitment and hard work mostly from him, to be able to prove that he deserved to regain my trust
The healing process was extremely difficult but we’ve made it. We are one of those couples who somehow survived infidelity and managed to rebuild a broken marriage, turning it into a strong and healthy relationship for both of us and our kids.
My H is now my best friend, we totally trust each other. I was able over the years to completely forgive him.
As per my sister, she knew for sure, she confronted at the time, both my H and Other Women.
Eventually she deeply regretted not telling and asked me to forgive her. Her apologies were honest and sincere., I have no resentment at all towards my sister.
I also know that my parents had a lot to do with my sister covering up my H cheating from me.
My parents... those are the ones who I never was really able to forgive, I think because I always knew deep inside they never regretted it, I always had the feeling that they always thought they did the right thing.
Unfortunately just a few weeks ago I got to confirm what I have been suspecting for a very long time.
