Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
We have a family member who had serious anxiety and related problems. When we tried to discuss solutions she would deny, deflect and defend. Another one blames everything on the political party he doesn't like.
In contrast my wife who has serious problems seems to be able to intelligently analyze her situation identify problems and suggest solutions
but I can's figure out why she doesn't do it. Imagine 2 kids in math class, one says he doesn't understand alegbra and got a 40 on the test, another got the same grade but cogently explains how to solve an equation but says she doesn't know why she didn't just do that on the test. There are people who have social anxiety and one can see some challenges. In contrast, my wife who now developed that when placed in a situation handles people beautifully observes social context, smiles appropriately, and handles things well. When I ask when don't you just do what you can and spend less time thinking and worrying, she says either I should do that or I don't know.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
and you? how are your own anxiety levels doing with all this?
Mental health issues are COMPLEX.
My anxiety can be high and am checking on personal therapy and marriage counseling. On a selfish level I cannot just go out as I used to and liked to hover around. Now going out of my backyard to exercise if my wife does not see me she gets overwhelming anxiety asking where were you.
self-care is not selfish.
