Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Since my last post about starting medicine I've been taking steps to keep pushing through the fog. I had my first therapy session last week. It went way better than when I tried to go last year. Yesterday I made it to the Christmas Parade. I started having second thoughts. I started feeling anxious lightheaded and feeling like I couldn't breathe but I stayed. I was able to watch my daughter March with the band. I've never went to any of her games because of my anxiety. I was extremely proud of her. My younger kids enjoyed it a lot. Something other than being "trapped" at home due to my fears.
With good comes bad, right? It's currently 2 am and I'm unable to sleep. Every time I seem to go I wake back up anxious. It always makes me fearful to sleep. I usually always make it worse by visiting "Dr. Google" but this time I came to talk about it here. There's a small part of me that wants to give up because it seems impossible to make it through. I keep trying to remind myself of something I heard "The path is not the place. Don't get the place confused with the path. This is not your destination."
It's hard trying not to listen to that negative voice in your head when you've listened so long. I want to break the cycle. I want to be better. I know I have to keep going forward.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Good job on going to the parade! That was a big step you took and you should feel proud.
be gentle with yourself and patient with the process. keep on stepping. if you keep putting one foot in front of the other, you are bound to get somewhere.
Believe it when the release of that much emotion, you need to keep moving afterwards to allow the body and brain to get back in sync so you can feel 'rest' in sleep.
When it is overwhelming like you mention, you have to just 'let go thinking' and 'do thinking'. You can do this!
Again, that's a huge hurdle you jumped over and through!
You got this! Be kind to yourself!
