Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
People in sports spend a lot of time on attitude and perspective. They just had the Jacksonville playoff game and the team was being dominated losing by 20 at half. In an amazing comeback, they won and there are some lessons on perspective, applicable in all situations.
1. Look forward and try to be positive. The coach didn't say, oh my gosh we dug ourselves one big hole and it will be almost impossible to get out. Not this is the decisive game of the sease and we're blowing it. People hear coaches yell but the other side for good coaches is positivism and enthusiasm.
2. Don't mistake lack of results with lack of effort. Asked hasn't your team been dominated first half with your quarterback throwing 3 interceptions, the coach responded, no, that's not the full picture, one was a good throw and some bad luck, the second faced some pressue, and the other a nice play. We have a good quarterback and just need to get back to basics.
3. Small steps Rather than looking at potentially scoring 30 points in one half, the coach said, we need to play well our first 2 possessions. That's something you can envision and sure enough they did that, reduced the lead, and ultimately came back. Don't have a job, work on your resume, research, look at the small steps you can do.
4. Depression I realize these things can be hard with depression and anxiety and people doing well can underestimate the challenges. One can only say the positivism, work with what you can do, small steps is how many successful people approach challenges.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
good thing i don't stigmatize much, huh?
did i forget my "attempted humor alert?" i married a "dumb jock" and raised another. i reserve the right to tease. for what it's worth, both of my jocks are quite intelligent, though the performance anxiety of which you speak so eloquently did keep them out of the big leagues.
Unfortunately the second played picked in the draft, with a seemingly bright future, had a challenging time and was replaced. There's good lessons in sports, my son played. But that doesn't mean we aren't spending too much time overall on sports, and periodically put too much pressure on kids.
I think gratitude has something to do with what you said too.
