Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Did you apologize for what happened? That would be an excellent place to start.
As you piece together the new balance, you will have to find a mutual way to express when you need a time-out (calm down moment) to get your calm back within range for conversing.
There is NOT a quick fix when you have a blow-out of epic stress. By taking the time to be calm when you share those stressful moments, and to be able to listen (listen to the words, tone, and pause before you consider what you want to say without adding your feelings to the conversation) in order to see the other person's perspective.
When you hurt because you hurt someone else, through words, you become far more aware of the power of gentle words. Practice those so they come to the front of your conversation, write them so they are comfortable to use and share.
You are responsible for what you say, do, and how you react and how you respond. You are NOT responsible for what others say and how they respond. That's why being able to listen and respond clearly without feeling will give you a better balance in future conversations.
Best wishes with your healing, recovering a new balance and finding a mutual common relationship with your wife.
You are not alone in this.
I have known the love of my life for 40 years now. We count the years we did not live together as the most important years of our marriage. Those are the years we learned how to live and let live while we worked individually on the self-love it takes to have a fully loving relationship. Good loving is WA-A-AY bigger than sharing an address and it takes time to learn. With our 40th anniversary around the corner, we both think we need another 40 years to practice, practice, practice. Some practice sessions are gooder than other, but ? ? ? Progress over perfection.
Sharing the individual loads with peers sure helps. However great the love of your life, it takes a village to live a healthy life. Nobody gets to be everything to anybody.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here
Good for you!
