Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

This is the start of what happened to start on the 7th of Feb. I got diagnosed with mild panic disorder at the hospital. What happened was I have nocturnal panic attacks and. Apparently, I don’t know this section because I don’t remember but my mom has told me what happened. I woke up from panic episode than my anxiety kicked in that I was going to be late for work but it didn’t register what time it was 1:30 am and with being bad weather I want a head start got completely ready for work and set off to work. My mom heard me leave and panicked on why I was leaving the house at 1:30 in the morning she tried 6 times to text me before I registered what was happening and I was halfway to work in the ice storm. I had a panic attack in the middle of the street threw up and walked back home and my mom met me in the lobby. Cold and shaken on what happened had another panic attack was sick to my stomach. That’s when my mom grabbed my phone and started making arrangements. I settled down around 3 am than I my chest started to hurt and felt like someone was squeezing my heart, so we went to the hospital and they checked my heart rate when I got there and it was 130 asked if I was gonna take my life I said no and I was in the hospital till 7:30 am. The hospital was more concerned about my heart I went from sleeping base heartbeat of 50 to 155 in a span of a min than back down to 130. Fast forward to now I've had since I was a kid with GAD and panic attacks now but I've been having the panic at night so I wake up in a panic and a state where I'm in my flight or fight response than my anxiety kicks in and it's just a huge circle.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Yup, GAD is as vicious a circle as ever hit the human genome. It's a lying beast which keeps us eternally confused and spins off uncounted physical side effects, including heart attacks. Intestinal problems are my own main side effect.
My own anxiety is part of a bigger psycho package for which I have been through decades of psychotherapy. Peer support, both live and on-line, is the most effective piece of that psychotherapy. Airing my anxiety issues among people who are experiencing the same problems helps me sort my anxiety from the outside problems. That awareness helps me allot. Hope it helps you, too.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Three things to do every day: stay hydrated, practice even breathing exercises to calm nerves and relax naturally, and set up a nighttime routine to include standing in front of mirror saying positive words and smiling until you feel comfortable and when you feel unsettled in bed, do this same thing.
One of the hardest things for anxiety and panic attacks is to remember both of these are natural ... and when you hand natural techniques back at them, the sensations disappear fast naturally.
The nocturnal events are often happening because our brain shares information when we are relaxed to help us sort through the information in a calm place. When we are overwhelmed, it often relates to doing things out of normal order.
Take time to journal privately about your feelings, keep track of your daily living activities. You'll notice a pattern of thoughts and work to switch the thoughts into a better balance.
Best wishes.
I’m sorry you are going through this. I pray you will get better soon. It will be helpful if you can attend a support group that you can meet in person. Talking with people who have the same experience will strengthen you and you will feel encouraged. Please keep us posted. Take care of yourself. God bless.
Also, I have sleepwalked SEVERAL times and gotten ready for work. Once I was fully dressed and I asked someone to tie my tie in the middle of the night! You are not alone, Keep coming back. Keep fighting! Are you taking medicine right now to help break the cycle? Remember, anxiety often comes in cycles like this. IT WONT BE THIS WAY FOREVER FRIEND!
