Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Anxiety is running my life. I can't eat, barely sleep, getting sick, nauseous all the time, can't stop shaking and worrying. I hate anxiety...why does it have to be like this. Lonely and scared. I can't take this anxiety anymore.
Feel like giving up.

If you want to beat it, you can't ever give up. My anxiety hasn't been what I would call "life interfering", for some time now. I still have it, but not the point that I am huddled in the fetal position on my bed anymore, scared of my own shadow, scared to work, scared to drive, etc. There is nothing special about me. The only thing I did was never give up. So don't ever, ever utter those words to yourself or to anybody else. You are a strong person.....you can do this.

I know exactly how you feel, as I have been experiencing the same thing for weeks now. Medication isn't the answer, as it only masks the symptoms, and will return once you stop taking them. Have you tried meditation CDs? Sometimes, I have found that these work, as has yoga.

You've been on Ativan on and off for seventeen years as you stated in a previous post. You are going to need to come off it. These medications can only do so much good for so long. It only blocks the symptoms, but it cannot do it forever, in fact over the long term it can actually do more harm, messing up long term memory and cognition, in some cases permanently, despite what any doctor says, they know this is a possibility, it has been proven in peer reviewed clinical studies. Benzodiazepines were never ever meant to be taken for such a long period of time, also despite what any doctor says, they know it is unsafe, many would never prescribe them for that amount of time. It's time to detox and start some serious CBT with exposure therapy. It works with up to a 70-90% success outcome, even after two years. Be strong.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I have got to get back into CBT to try and deal with the anxiety better. It is exhausting being anxious all the time.

I know exactly how you feel and have been in the same condition before. My anxiety has taken me through different phases and I went through the phase you described. You just can't give up! I know it's overwhelming when you're feeling bad and how it makes you feel. I've read that telling ourselves that we can't take it anymore is one of the worst things that we can tell ourselves. We may feel that way at the moment but realistically we know that we will take it and pick ourselves up and keep plugging! Some habit's are hard to break and some lesson's are learned harder than other's. I know that we both will keep on trying and I know it hurt's physically as well as emotionally but I think not giving up is the answer.I read Lilygirl's responses on here and they give me hope. She knows that not giving up is the answer. It's hard to believe that this is only anxiety doing this to us butthats the truth. When I'm not doing well I try to think of what my friends have told me on here and that they have faith in us and we can't give up. I would like to be better than I am but I'm a lot better than I was so I try to think about that when I get bummed out. Anyway I know how you feel and I hope you start feeling better and get better at not paying attention to that bully anxiety! Good luck and sleep well! O

Everyday I feel more and more sick. Being in pain every day, I've learned to disguise it. So well that others don't believe my pain when I speak of it. Needing help but only receiving negative responses, I find my way but pay for it later. I absolutely need the rest but there's pressing things to be done.

Ugh my depression is really being triggered by the grief of losing my mom. Ugh it sucks. I wish this pain would leave me already.
