Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I can relate to you 100%. I suffer from anxiety/panic attacks every single day. I was recently put on new anti depressants but it has not kicked in yet as its been a week. I am seeing counseling, and like you, it is not enough. I have researched IOP groups and it stands for Intensive Outpatient Program offered at many hospitals and mental health clinics. I did my intake 2 days ago and I am waiting on a call to know when I will be starting. It consists of group therapies which is led by a licensed professional, individual therapies, and psycho-educational courses. I figured doing a program that is 3 days out of the week or even every day during the week would be a good step in the right direction. I can help you search for places near your area if you would like. Please message me anything or even add my number if you ever want to talk. I wake up to anxiety each morning and even know I am on edge. We have to be strong (as hard as it is with the attacks) but having people to talk to and relate to is such a good support system.
I suffered most of my life and did not recognize it until about 6 years ago, I became an addict of several addictions to try and rid myself of anxiety and panic attacks.
I did talk therapy and attempted suicide a few times before I finally put the pieces of puzzle together and CURED myself of anxiety and panic attacks.
It takes patience and persistence in order to cure anxiety. Your brain created it and your brain can stop it as well.
So if you want the cure, it will only work if you put the time and energy into it.
Most ppl do not eat correctly and I was guilty, guilty, guilty of that up until I was diagnosed 5 years ago with diabetes, high blood pressure, and what the doctors consider high cholesterol. I changed my eating habits right away, added walking daily, and my blood sugars came down right away........and so did my anxiety (out of control sugars will do that either when high or low).
However, it did not cure me and was promptly put on 3 meds which over time made me sicker. Sure.....my blood sugar seemed normal and so did my other vitals......however, the meds created other problems and I set out to find answers on my own.
I found out my body was deficient of vital vitamins and minerals which not only created the diseases, but ANXIETY AND PANIC ATTACKS as well.
Again, that is just part of the puzzle. I was still eating fast foods and prepackaged foods a few times a week as they were convenient and tasted yummy......big mistake!!!!
You need 81 vitamins and minerals DAILY and if your body is not working correctly, it will not absorb the vitamins or supplements you take to make up for what is seriously lacking in our food. Plus all the additives and toxins in prepackaged and fast foods are dangerous. Now add a bunch of pills and voila......disease AND anxiety issues.
Vitamin and mineral deficiency alone are a HUGE issue, but again, only part (a big part might I add) of the puzzle that adds to anxiety). Hydration too is part of the puzzle. Most ppl do not drink enough water. Coffee, gatoraide, soda (diet and regular), energy drinks, and a few others (anything with carbonation and high fructose or corn syrup is dangerous and bad for you.
I will admit that I have a half cup of coffee in the morning with a little REAL sugar and a little cream.
All artificial sugar is lethal. It is a neuro toxin and attacks the nervous system causing dementia, Alzheimer, cancer, and ANXIETY.
The ONLY oils you should be cooking with/eating is Extra Virgin Olive Oil (cold pressed), organic coconut oil, and avocado oil. ALL others are cancer causing and cause inflammation throughout the body and attack our vessels.
Ok, so as you can see this is a HUGE component to most physical and mental health issues INCLUDING anxiety.
This means you must become your own detective and READ every ingredient on every bit of food you eat.
I now mainly eat a plant based diet, but when I eat meat, it is usually chicken and it is hormone, and antibiotic free. Meats are fine as long as they are grass fed free of toxins on the grass they eat (hormone and antibiotic free).
My vitamins are vegan and gluten free (they are cheaper than pharma drugs in the long run).
My local health food store (not GMC) has been helpful if guiding me to better health. They are very knowledgeable. I trust them more than my doctors. They actually take time to talk to me and get to know me.....and it's free :)
Exercise daily. I walk about 2 miles at least 4 times a week and sometimes when time permits, I walk 7 days. I walk at the malls when the weather is bad, but prefer walking out doors to get plenty of fresh air.
Deep breathing is VERY important. We all tend to shallow breath, especially when our anxiety is high or when we are having a panic attack.
Breath deeply several times a day. Make sure your back is straight and chest is out, head is up. Breathe in deeply through the nose. Hold it several seconds and breathe out through the nose another seven seconds. Do this several times and it will automatically kick in the sympathetic system which will naturally slow your heart rate and restore you to calmness. You may feel dizzy at first and this is normal as blood is rushing to your head which is needed to stop the attacks.
Meditation does NOT have to be lengthy or difficult.
Even if you sit for 10 minutes with your eyes closed and do nothing but just sit there with your phone and other tech devices turned off and you become disconnected for 10 minutes.....you will be ok.
I know that intrusive thoughts or your mind wandering happens. That is why I like 10 or 20 minute guided meditations which I found tons of them on youtube :)
Very helpful.
Now......one of the last and most important puzzle pieces is TURN OFF THE NEWS and other negative social media.
Watch a funny sitcom/movie. Get laughing and find other ppl that are positive to hang around with.
I had to drop several ppl out of my life and that included family members.
People who do not respect you, your boundaries, and dismiss you and your feelings, or if they are abusing you/controlling you....they need to go.
This will give you plenty of time to go inwards and find self love, self respect, and strength to become the real you.
I know all about the difficulty of breaking off relationships especially with relatives. We are taught by society and by family that it is wrong and they should get a free pass to abuse or hurt you emotionally, financially, or any other tactic. WRONG. This is your life!!!! Let them live their life the way they want to and you can live your life the way you want to.
If you have a hard time letting go of ANY relationship, look up "trauma bonding" and get help.
Since I have stuck to kicking ppl out of my life and speaking up for myself, I have gained self respect, self love.......and I enjoy the peace and quiet. My life and money are my own.
It felt odd at first, but now I love it. I am very careful who I let in my life. I only have a few friends, but they are authentic and love me just the way I am. we have mutual respect, and we have common likes. We find time for each other too :)
Life is good.....but only if you take control and actually do the steps to freedom from anxiety, depression, and diseases.
It takes "action jackson," but think about all the time anxiety is taking up in your life. Why not use the time you have to sit on the sidelines while anxiety runs amuck and change. Educate yourself about what pharma meds do to your body and what they are doing to your liver.
I am 100% med free today. It took a year of work and change......the purging of the medicines were a bit overwhelming. I found a salt mind near me and I go there once a month to help with the detoxing symptoms. I highly recommend them!
Oh well, I know this is lengthy and hope you find something that will help.
I know that change is difficult and sometimes you have to take it slow and you will eventually get there. If you do nothing......then nothing will change.
Meds are good for temporary solutions until you can implement knew ideas.
Pharma is not interested in curing you. They want to keep you tied to their wallets while their pills are slowly killing you. The doctors are their pimps and they don't even know what the drugs do to you and most can't even tell you what is in the drug or the effects it has on other organs.
They have big lawyers and hundreds of pages of protection becuz pharma knows what their drugs do to you. They don't have lasting effects and that is why you have to change them and most are highly addictive....HELLO!!!!
Take control of your life and health or someone else will!
Take care and best of health and love.
