Did your doctor give you any other tools for overcoming anxiety....(other then breathing and medication)?
If not....friend me....and on my journal page will be week by week entries with information pertaining to what you are dealing with. There is also tips on how to ease the discomfort that is caused by anxiety.
You are not alone....this is one of the most common emotional disorders accounting for the highest number of doctor visits every year.
I've also found trying to stop thinking a certain thought is crazy impossible. However I can tell myself a different story.
So what I tend to do is tell myself a story about how the discussion/situation will go and when I start to go in a bad direction, I shift it back to seeing the situation going well.
I also get anxiety when I feel like I'm "supposed" to do something a certain way but I don't know what "way" that is. So if I can shut that down and tell myself I'll do my best and learn as I go, it can sometimes help but I'm still working on it!
With medication, I've had huge luck with propranalol and L-Theanine.
