Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hello Everyone,
Well for starters I'm new here to this group. But I have to share, I think I had some sort of panic today. My friends and I were out eating and out of nowhere, I felt this impending feeling of doom. It lasted for longer than an hour, and I felt like I wanted to cry. Sadly I did not allow myself to do that because I have a roommate (I live in a dorm room) and I did not want to frighten them. So I went out for a walk and came back to have some tea. I'm not quite sure why I got this impending feeling of doom out of nowhere, I was fine. It isn't the first time I have gotten this feeling, but it is the first time it has happened to me since coming back to campus.
Best,

It is my own general rule that I save my venting and speculation about my panic and anxiety for the safety of my therapy support network just because I don't typically expect anybody who doesn't suffer the disorders to understand. It isn't an understanding I'd wish on anybody, which only makes my therapy support network that much more valuable. Nobody understands like a fellow sufferer. DS is part of my therapy support network and I get lots of validating compassion here. Hope you do, too.
Welcome aboard.
Thank you for the welcome. I agree with you, it seems like a hard thing to talk about with people who don't really understand how it feels to have this feeling.
