Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I recently became involved with a man I met online. We are both separated, each with kids of our own. We have had some very intense conversations about life and love, and after about a month of chatting we met in person and were intimate on Friday. The connection was very strong and we talked for hours afterwards, I have strong feelings for him. This is the first man I have been with since my husband. I have a lot of insecurities and I was very afraid that I would not hear from him again afterwards and that he was just using me. I have no reason to believe this, he has been nothing but kind and considerate throughout the entire time we have been talking. He has done nothing wrong, and I know most of my fears stem from my anxiety. We did exchange a few texts Friday night, and he reached out to me on Saturday as well. I did not hear from him on Sunday, but he wrote me Monday morning and we exchanged a few brief texts. I know it is a very busy time of year and he is with his kids and wife (that he is separated from) for the holidays, which drives me crazy because I am terrified that they are going to reconcile. If this does happen I know I should be happy for his family's sake, but selfishly I desperately need his friendship and companionship. He makes me feel so happy and also he is the first person I really feel like understands and can relate to my situation. I can't talk to my friends because they don't know all the details about the split with me and my husband yet. Please no judgments – I know we both should've waited until we were officially divorced but extrmee loneliness can cause you to do crazy things. Instead of enjoying Christmas with my family all I can do is worry about what is going to happen in the next few days. I want to send him a Merry Christmas message later tonight, and my biggest fear is that he is not going to respond and start ignoring me. I am physically sick over this and I can not stop worrying. I know I am going to be checking my phone constantly after I reach out. Please help me get through this somehow. I have started taking Zoloft recently and I got a prescription for Xanax yesterday, it calms me a little but the thoughts are still racing through my head constantly. I don't know what to do. I don't want to lose him but I know I have no control over the situation. I really need his friendship right now but obviously I don't want to seem clingy and needy.

Do stuff with the kids. Start a new hobby. Keep your mind busy. Things
Will eventually get better.
As much as I wish it were possible for somebody else to get me to quit worrying, I've had to accept that, short of a frontal lobotomy, I am on my own for that one. Damn! ! ! Where's my instant, one-stop solution? ? ? I got rights, ya know! ! !
There is no *cure* for the common me, but emotional support goes a long way on helping me manage this chronic anxiety and worry. I hope you find such support here and that it makes as much diff for you as it does for me.

Welcome aboard.
At work I met a male coworker, who though he is 20 years younger became a friend. We took breaks together nearly everyday. He came over to help me with some heavy lifting jobs around the house. We had great conversations, and discovered we were both very lonely. Eventually we went out to eat or to a movie many times. I felt happy for the first time since my husband died.
Two months ago he got a new job. It was a great opportunity for him but involves insane early hours. Since then communication has nearly stopped. If I message him it doesn't get answered for days. He has been too tired to do anything.
That's when I fell into terrible anxiety. Do I have to mourn a loss again?
I have appointments with a counselor and Antidepressant expert, but they are still two weeks away. I feel like I am holding on by my fingernails.
I made myself not contact him. Then Christmas morning get a "Merry Christmas, Hon." I am also invited to his home on New Years Eve.
So now I am so confused where I stand.
