I filed for assistance with the State of NJ in 2024 and 2025 and was approved within 60 days and it helped greatly.  I applied again on May 10th.  I called when I didn't hear anything for 60 days.  I was told it could take 90 days.  I called when I didn't hear anything after 90 days.  I was told that my application was on the manager's desk, along with 100 applications.  I was also put on a solar program to help save on my electric bill and I am supposed to receive a $50 gift card.  Well, the 120 day mark came and went so I called two days ago and left a voicemail.  Didn't hear back from them so I called again yesterday.  The woman accidentally hung up when she put me on hold so I called back.  She said that someone is going to call me around 9 a.m. today.  I will be in my car, driving, but I have my phone hooked up to my car so I will be able to take the call.  I hope it is good news.  I am allowed to make up to something like $50,000 and still get assistance.  I probably make at least $10,000 less than that between Social Security and my job at the school, which is part-time.  Wish me luck!
