Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I think I am missing out on life because I'm disabled and don't leave the house much. Only to docs and store. My wife and I don't get to do alot of things, because our bodies are so arthritic that we don't move alot. I'm getting the feeling life is passing me by and laughing at me the whole time. It's like standing at a window watching the world shift and change while I sit in my room watching it all happen, but never being apart. My anxiety gets to me sometimes where I can barely breathe. I've tried meditation but I couldn't concentrate. I tried yoga and my body doesn't flex that direction. I started a journal on here. I hope it helps. I'm tired of taking all these meds. But I know I need them. If it wasn't for the meds I would be in a looney bin right now. Well that's me checking in for today.

I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.
Writing it out is the most important first step to help find your better balance.
Like Thor mentions, do small and simple activities to get out and about.
Going out to the docs and the stores is all I do at the moment. I do a lot of self entertaining by researching different things that sound and/or look interesting.
A short walk outside will give you something to observe and write about.
Make a list of the things you really want to do, places you really want to go, and then figure out a plan so you can do something.
And, it depends on what you consider that you are 'missing'. Once I wrote out what I thought I was 'missing', it helped me to choose what I really wanted.
Best wishes.
