Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Too soft I think
And I care about the suffering I hear and see. So I wonder why I have to suffer with the anxiety.
I am so sensitive that I am like a teenager. If I text something and don't get a quick response, or the response is not what I wanted to hear, I will apologize and say is everything okay, I will do this or that to make it up etc. (If you get what I mean) So my relationships with others I am sensitive to, which then brings on anxiety. Did I say the wrong thing, what did they mean when they said that to me, and on and on.
Hi mtd, I really appreciate your suggestion on Carl James' book and Dr. Claire Weekes! Thank you both for being here!
I have never thought about it being related to anxiety before. I can see how it could be though. I am sure it effects my depression. I do think I deal with it a little better now that I am much old. Well maybe just repress it more, I dont know.
It makes me sad that having a heart in this world has to be looked at as a disadvantage.
Yes having a good heart, caring about what others (who you don't even know) are going through, and of course I cannot look at the animal commercials.
But yes this makes me very sad. But makes sense. I am not tough enough so I let the anxiety take control over me.
And NoththesameCat, yes the morning anxiety is impossible to get rid of!!
Sometimes I swear I was a dog in a past life :)
I bet your tougher than you think. Its not easy living this way but we are both still here doing the best we can and trying to help others
But being sensitive also causes me angst in situations like family gatherings for instance. Let's say one thing I overhear my sister say, or my niece say that I take offence to for some reason, and that will bother me and stick with me for a very long time. I could be having a perfectly nice gathering, and one comment or discussion will get me down.
I assume this is also part of anxiety. Overthinking the situation and being sensitive to it?
In more recent times, if it is something I think I can bring up , i actually called my sister on time and kind of fooled around but asked what was meant. And she of course thought nothing of it and said something like "no I didnt mean it like that". So yes its that sensitivity creaping in.
I always over think things too. Always trying to be the mind reader and guess the other persons mean. Oh and by the way I always go with the most negative sinario
Or even friends gatherings. Whatever. Someone will say something that I take personally.
I dont know you but my guess is you're a very lovely person. I know you have a heart and care, that's wonderful in my book. I know having these intense feelings has its drawbacks, but without people like you in the world, the world would not be worth living in!
Unfortunately we are beat down too easily. Stand up sweetheart let the world know you are here!
I am trying my best to do that. I fight my darker thoughts all the time. I want to be the light that this world needs, even if it is just on this stupid screen for now.
