Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

my eldest foster child has been complaining of crippling pains which keep shifting to random spots through his 11 year old body since early november. it has been a wild goose chase through the medical parks trying to find answers or at least relief. the wild goose chase lead to a rheumotologist who believes he has "juvenile idiopathic arthritis." further testing needed. she advised us to check him into a hospital where they could compress weeks worth of testing and treatment into a single week. hubs and i decided to go that route. this little man is in serious need of relief.
the two little sisters were alarmed to panic attacks when i gave them the news as they got off the bus last night. especially the little one (5). she loves her "Gampy Bear" and can't sleep without him. gampy has taken the lead in all the medical care since covid, god bless his sainted soul, and the hospital is not an exception. big bro got baby sis's gampy bear last night and baby sis had a rough night for the absence. getting ready for school this morning looked doubtful, but big sis (8) rallied like a champ, leading baby sis through the ritual with a grace and style baby sis responded to like a dream. big sis ain't no gampy bear, but she ain't too shabby, just the way she is.
of course the girls are anxious to see where big bro and gampy bear are. the plan is to pick the girls up from school rather than letting them ride the bus and heading to the hospital in the nearby metroplex straight away.
just venting. prayers needed and appreciated.
i'm leaving the mood icon squarely on "okay" today. it's a harder-than-usual day, but methinks we are holding steady.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.
Prayers and good thoughts!
That traveling pain at different times is really difficult to diagnose in a definite pattern.
You're doing the best you can in the moment-here's cheering you all on!
update
yesterday they injected steroids into the affected joints, his jaw, knee and big toe. this morning he woke up pain free for the first time in a month or so -- right before they subjected him to a battery of painful tests and treatments. "psoriatic arthritis" is currently the leading suspect. believed to be a life long, but manageable condition.
stepping small, praying big and letting god lead the dance.
Psoriatic arthritis, is very painful.....I had it at the height of the pandemic.......Everyone thought it was gout,
After a few rounds of prednasone, we knew it was something else.
Very painful though
I think it's unusual for a child, to psoriatic arthritis (any kind of arthritis)
But, glad he's ok
for what it's worth
this work is being done in the cook children's hospital. it is still a hospital, but hands down the funnest hospital i have ever been in. it is a most impressive operation. pun intended.
with or without proof, it remains a long journey best taken one step at a time with frequent rest breaks for when even one step feels like more than i can handle.
