Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I am losing ^it^, big time. Marshal law isolation with the grief of my son's death and the inheritance of his 3 orphans is proving more than I can manage. To the extent that I have been looking for inpatient care and. . . That wasn't as easily said than done in the Old Normal of February. Here in the New Normal of Coronaville, the rise in mental illness is off the charts. The fearful leaders of Coronaville are too busy tending the single microbe that the ignored pathogens are having a field day reproducing without interference from the virus-obsessed mainstream.

Are the germaphobes safe yet? Will the rest of us survive the need to protect them?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
The virus will go on for a long time until it either dies out which is doubtful, or a vaccine is developed to lessen the effect. I know our hospitals are just starting to gear up to start non-essential services, but my doctor said that if I wanted inpatient services she would make it happen. I didn’t. I was afraid because of the virus and because I have never been inpatient.
Can you ask for partial inpatient? Or ask for extra appointment s with your therapist?
Since I'm not afraid of the virus, a psych ward sounds as close to a peer support meeting as the germaphobes of Coronaville are going to allow. I need my live peer support. For my therapy nickel, peer support is the heart and soul of my psychotherapy. My pros are just reference books that never leave the library. Sometimes the info is good. Sometimes that info is best left on the shelves. In all cases, pros are on a "Buy or Don't Buy" basis. Pro detachment and all that yaddah. I trust my support group peers to help me screen the candidates far more than I trust the Pro Peers who barely see me as more than a potential buyer.
