Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I find these dark mornings to be kind of triggering. In the summer I'll wake up, make my coffee, then sit in the back yard and listen to the birds and watch joggers on the trail behind my house and just enjoy the morning. Now I find myself sitting in my office, getting on the computer far too early and wondering what it is I could be doing. I know daylight savings is coming (and with it a farewell to evening sunlight, but that's another issue), but, in the meantime, I sit here in the dark feeling pensive and unsure what to do.
Sigh... often I long to live somwhere like Hawaii where the light and weather don't change with the seasons. But, having lived my whole life in North America, I wonder if the lack of seasonal change would start to feel like Groundhog Day and that would start to cause me angst. Grass is always greener and all that...

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
The seasonal change affects many folks in ways not quite understood fully until they experience the full value of the places closer to the equator that have more hours of sunlight through the entire year.
It's easy to focus on the darkness, however, as a friend shared with me, once they started viewing the stars the same way they did the sunlight, it became a treasured time.
Here's to finding your way through this moment in a positive balance.
Weather is 72 degrees pretty much every day here in the Winter.
Hawaii is beautiful. I agree with @Mid. Maybe plan a vacation? Florida is another place.
Hope you can adapt to your seasons changing and that you find beauty in what the Fall season has to offer.
Ecuador rocked for the light balance. 12 hour days, 12 hour nights, 12 months a year. The weather varies far more by altitude than season. Hot and balmy on the beach and continually cold by the ice caps with all the shades between those extremes.
It breaks my heart that the Andean ice caps are melting in the Global Warming. They are predicted to be gone in around 15 years.
For now, it's gonna mostly be about me adjusting my routine. Even if I don't want to... cause in a pushing match between me and nature.. well, Vegas wouldn't touch those odds.
As my meditation teacher say, stress is the space between how things are and how we want them to be.
I wonder what your meditation teacher has to say about a good escape fantasy?
