Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hey everyone, I've been struggling with anxiety and depression for a couple months now. Been trying to wean off my Lexapro because it didn't seem to be working even after an increase. I've been on mirtazipine at 15 mg for the past 5-6 weeks. It's worked wonders for my insomnia but in the past week I've been waking up really early feeling anxious, sweaty, with stomach issues. Even after taking my dog for a long walk it persists.?Usually gets better in the afternoon. I'm a teacher and I'm starting classes next week. I'm wondering if I'm just anxious about starting school with my anxiety flaring up or if it's something with my meds. Every now and then I take small amount of clonazepam and it helps a lot. This morning I broke down crying while meditating. It was the first time I've cried while I've been struggling. It felt good to release my emotions but I'm curious why it's just happening now. This whole thing feels like such a puzzle.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Gentle support while you work the puzzle on your own case.
Get things prepared the best you can for that first day.
Regarding your other post.... are you going to stay on the 20 mgs Lexapro for now? Just my two cents, but going off the Lexapro completely might be a little tough to do at the same time you are starting teaching again. Going off of an SSRI can cause mood swings. Changing the dose around also causes your moods and anxiety to fluctuate. Not sure if you are going to stick with the consistency that you mentioned in your other post. At least for now. You have new stressors starting next week. I am hoping after school starts, you will be feeling better! Best wishes!
I still think it's not the Lexapro that stopped working. That it is other stressors in your life that are happening, or have happened over the course of the last year, that made your anxiety higher. My opinion is it had nothing to do with the Lexapro. Again, just my thoughts. When I have high stress and anxiety going on in my life, I feel like my meds aren't working either. But I know it's just the stress going on in my life that's making me feel that way.
Take things one step at a time. Being prepared now, for school next week, will help you to feel less stress. Keep writing it out. Hope you feel better!
Be gentle on yourself while you go through this and while you prepare for a return to school. It sounds like there is "stuff" happening and generally, once it starts happening it needs to run it's course. Acceptance of the emotions and the knowledge that this will pass are things you'll want to keep in mind.
Sending peace and support your way.
Hope things will go well for you. Please keep us posted. God bless you.
