Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hey, I'm new to trying online support. I've started a new semester in college. I've been trying to remember to take my anxiety pills and for the past 5 days I have been on a roll... I'm nervous about the semester though.. I always get like this because I like to feel like I have control of my life, that it's organized and I know what to plan out. Since we haven't really gotten in the swing of things in class, and my other on campus job hasn't started yet I've been feeling lost. My severing job has been slow this week so I've been going hoe early. I know I want to read my textbooks, but everytime I get to my room I sleep for a few hours. I don't really want to go out. I hate falling alseep midday, it makes me feel like I've done nothing. Even more so because I worked all summer. Does anybody else feel like this when everything in there life is just slow? If so, what do you do?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Posilutely, I get extra anxious during the slow periods. Waiting anxiety just might be the meanest flavor of anxiety on my anxiety smorgasbord. My mind can "What If" its way to Armageddon *if* I let it.
Awareness and meditative workouts, such as Tai Chi or Yoga are my main tools for managing this psychotick. The simple awareness that I am functioning under the influence of waiting anxiety helps me to be more gentle with myself as I factor in the temporary handicap. The meditative workouts help me channel the anxious energy into a more calming force.
