Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I'm having a rough day and I stumbled over this site so I thought I would give it a try and see what comes back toward me.
I recently suffered what I think was a nervous breakdown and ever since, I have been slowly trying to put myself back together. It's a very long story and I'm not quite ready to relive it blow-by-blow. But I am ready and willing to admit that I need support from people who understand what living with anxiety is like.
I feel like I'm so lost right now. I've been through a lot (throughout my whole life) and have run out of ways to cope with the things that I've been through and it's harder than ever to keep opening up and allowing myself to trust people. People I love and trusted have hurt me so many times that I folded inside myself. I don't hang out with people anymore, I don't feel happy, I don't know what my purpose is anymore and I don't feel like I'm getting any closer to figuring it out, and sometimes the anxiety is so bad that I'm ashamed to exist.
I know no one is judging me as hard as I'm judging myself but I just don't want to even show my face anywhere.
I feel so ugly and so unlovable.
I feel useless because I don't have a purpose anymore.
I feel sad and isolated that life is going on all around me and I'm stuck. I'm stuck feeling like I'm not worth it. I'm stuck in a loop of my mind shooting off anxiety missiles constantly, and the resulting compulsions to try to mitigate the extreme stress.
Every time I feel like I want to go out or try to make new friends, there's this raw stab of fear in my chest, like getting hit by a panic cleaver right in the center of my brain and feeling it spread everywhere instantly.
It's all the worse because those people that already have a place in my life don't know what this is like. Or, at least, they don't seem to. They think it's as simple as changing my attitude, or whatever. They don't get that I need their encouragement rather than judgment right now.
I feel like people who have never experienced this have a hard time understanding. They're judging me by a standard of a person who does not suffer from anxiety. I'm trying to remember that and take it easy on them.
But that's also why I'm still searching for the support of people who do know what it's like.
I know this is a long post, but thanks to anyone who reads it. Thanks so much for allowing me to express these things. Thanks for your time.
I look forward to supporting you, too.

I don't really know how to label this but I having a rough week and I can't say it's one thing.... I have a lot on my plate which is nothing new and I try to cope in many positive ways and do but I still have my moments. My kids more so my daughters talk to me about everything which I know it's cause of comfort and we are close.... however I really struggle with the venting about their dad which...

Second, that was good venting. And I think you needed to get that out.
Your right, no one here is judging you or anyone. Expect honest remarks and answers here. And you have plenty of support also.
Have you been to a Doctor, medical or psychological?
If you had a true nervous break down. Its not that easy to build yourself back up.
Anxiety is a very debilitating and emotional problem.
Find things that calm you down. Music, comedy movies etc. A walk a park.... for each if us its different.
Your not ugly... or unwanted. Everyone can be loved. And usually are. They just don't realize how much.
Try to use the Journal here. Write your thoughts and day to day activities down. You can make it public, private or just for friends.
Writing in a Journal/Diary is very Therapeutic.
Lot of people here to support and care about you.
Good luck!
Anxiety is quite debilitating and it has a tendency to drag its friend Depression around with it. Things have been intense, for sure, but I have been working on techniques to pacify the anxiety and depression (self-help, meditative therapies and CBT). It's a process and I am having a bad day. But for the most part lately, I have been better. I just feel a little low. I feel support waning. And I'm really looking for people who understand, you know? Like, people who have personally been there.
I appreciate the support any time I'm shown any. Thank you.
It does not matter what others think or do. You are responsible for what you think and do, so do what makes you feel your best.
Best wishes.
so many of the things you wrote resonated with me, and you articulated yourself very well. I've only been in this group for two days, but I've found so many people experiencing similar emotions. That doesn't make things easier necessarily, but there is a community who may be even one step closer to understanding what you're going through. The fact that you've reached out for help already shouldn't be discounted. You are strong for fighting this far.
So I don't think it is a long post at all. It took me a few minutes to read it, less than five minutes I guess. I think I have interacted with your post so quickly because most of what you typed is happening to me too.
I have been betrayed by people who I loved and trusted for so many years. They betrayed me and judged me too. I just don't know how they could do it and how they could break my trust. They hurt me so much. They made me feel that I don't want to live anymore. They have ruined my life. I keep asking myself why? I am stuck keeping thinking about it. Sometimes I question myself 'was it my fault to trust them?', but I was so young, only five years old. It really is so hard to deal with anxiety. I am just a human and I don't think that people deserve to suffer in their lives.
