Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I have suffered with anxiety and depression since a very young age of 14. I have had ups and downs ever since but most recently I have started a relationship and it started wonderful we met each other 10 years ago met twice felt a strong connection but things and circumstances we lost connection now we are dating one month and he is amazing good guy that is all I wanted in a man but I started feeling overwhelmed how could he love me so fast he only wants me happy. I love him and care for him alot. I feel unworthy do I love him as much as he loves me. Am I better off alone and not hurt him by being so uncertain. Will it work won't it work. I go over the cycle over and over I don't want to loose him I feel we could be happy but these thought feel so real and I lying to myself am I lying to him. I get withdrawn and depressed where I feel I will be alone the rest of my life because I don't know how to handle my negative thinking my negative feelings about myself. I just bought a new house getting built never owned one before and I am scared about doing this all alone. I just want to crawl in a hole and not come out or worse think of ending it all. Which I won't do because I do not want to hurt my family and friends. So I just feel guilty about thinking like that. I can't enjoy the little things in life without getting upset that I am not normal. Why do I have to stop and smell the roses and enjoy the little things why can't I already enjoy the little things! Why do I need meds. I tried getting into my LCSW that I saw 2 years ago but she has no opening for a month. And I don't know if I can wait that long should I look for someone else. I just want to feel normal and happy. This is just a small portion of what I think about negatively in my mind all day every day :(

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
Writing in a private journal will help you sort out your feelings in a safe way.
Practice even breathing to find calm.
I'm not a writer either, with zero ambitions to Be A Writer, but my therapy journal sure does help me sort through the yaddahs of my anxiety blahs. I looked into Becoming A Writer and decided that writing makes a better record of life than way of life. Being just a regular schmuck makes writing a powerful therapy tool that Writers don't get to enjoy because writing is work for them. Hard, highly competitive and stressful work, at that. As a cathartic release and psycho sorting tool, writing is a whole different ball game.
I hope you'll give it a try, whether here in open forum or in a private journal.
So I think whatever you do, just start.
Occasionally writing feels an exercise in confusion and frustration for me and actually kicks up anxiety and I need to vocalize instead. That’s when I let the writing go for a bit until I’m ready to start really processing and sorting things out.
Find all the tools that work for you and add them to your tool box. And if you feel you can’t wait for an appointment find someone else who can see you sooner. It’s ok. You are in charge of you.
I have known folks who far better with graphic journals. Graphics, too, are quite expressive. In my opine, a picture can be worth wa-a-a-ay more than a thousand words.
