Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Medical Anxiety is my issue too. I call it that because so many of us have symptoms relating to some life threatening disease. Or at least we think we do. Yet, if you go to a doctor the diagnosis isn't as severe as you thought or doesn't exist at all. I've been through heart issues, appendix issues, all kinds of maladies from cancer to some rare disease and have yet to be diagnosed with any of them. I've lost huge amounts of weigh at times from worry, no appetite, feeling like I want to cry, you name it I've probably experienced it. I guess what I'm trying to say is I really feel your pain. Sometimes its hard to think of any thing else. But, hang in there. Are you on any anxiety meds?

One day, at rush hours I was feeling so bad I couldn’t start driving. I realized that I was having a panic attack.
For many years I only drove locally. To work, a couple of shops and that was it. On holiday I took my kids only to Scotland, always on the same route when it was quiet. No motorways or dual carriage way.
I got a new job and I had to drive on the motorway. A friend came with me twice to show me the way. I made a few mistakes but I managed well.
I realized that it was not the driving that I feared. My fear was of GETTING LOST!!!!
I WAS A 47 YEARS OLD WOMAN FRIGHTEND TO GET LOST!
I don’t know why! I don’t know for how long I had that in me!
But the fear was paralysing me. That was why I couldn’t drive.
I got an IPhone who has a brilliant satnav like app. It tells me where to go so I am not stressed anymore. I know that I can’t get lost now.
I still get some panic attacks at times but most of them are worries about the finances or the kid’s safety. I try to look at them like normal things of life. I try to embrace my fears know. To get to their roots.
