Once again, anyone out there taking neurontin (aka gabapentin) and experiencing sleep insomnia or disturbances in the middle of the night and finding it difficult to go back to sleep? I can deal with little sleep for a couple of days but it gets to be a drag after that. Been a while since I have had insomnia, taking neurontin for unrelated physical issue. Still not sure it is helping and if anyone is experiencing sleep issues I may quit it.

I ask because I was on neurontin for a while, for certain nerve issues, and I weaned myself off when I realized I had far less energy using the medication. I was switched to another nerve medicine that I've since weaned off, and my energy level is higher. However, I have to be diligent with my balance as both of these medicines were terrific in helping me to keep a regular balance.
I went to therapy to strengthen my muscles (core and all), and as long as I practice slow motion in getting up, I'm ok.
Sleep issues often occur when you are dehydrated. Taking any type of medicine for nerve issues will bring out mild dehydration...and if you are sensitive, as I am, you know to get more liquid in you, both drink and food.
Best wishes.
