Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
It is warmer at this end of the house so I am nice and toasty in my bed. It is 6 degrees here. Yesterday, I got my property tax card which is the last of what I need to do my taxes. I always wait until the last possible day although the last taxes that I filed were for 2018. The IRS has free filing so I'm going to try that. I'm so grateful that it's the weekend. Yesterday, I had a hair appointment with my brother. When I was in his chair, my phone started ringing. A customer took it upon herself to bring my phone to me. I didn't really want it. Then I saw who was calling and immediately got pissed. This friend of mine almost always calls at a bad time. First of all, I hate the phone and have since the 90s. Second of all, she insists that we talk on the phone. Third of all, we end up talking for an hour. She has been very helpful in getting me to sign up for Informed Delivery through the USPS, getting assistance with electric and gas, and telling me that the money I am quoted to get from the NJStay program is divided by 4. If she would text, I would be much more inclined to talk to her. So I ended up frantically trying to hit the red button on my phone and tossed my phone on the counter. My brother said, very nicely, that I had a temper tantrum and said that I should be taking Xanax more than once a day. My Aunt has COVID so I won't be visiting her today although I feel bad because she will be out of soda and something good to eat. She seems real old now and very cantankerous.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I agree with you with not answering the phone, especially when it's someone who wants to 'chat the ears'. I have rarely responded to phone calls, I do respond to text messages easier.
Here's to doing the taxes the best way possible.
Stay warm!
My husband will take a phone call in the middle of a conversation with me. Drives me nuts. I tend to not take the call and just wait till I can text or talk.
I have one or two elderly friends who will talk on the actual phone, everyone else just texts. I used to call my friend who died last fall every week or two and we'd chat and she'd just lift my spirits. Her last two years were hard and I was having my own restrictive health issues that stopped my social life. So I regret the time I wasted not calling her more or going to her house and sitting with her.
I just don’t let it get under my skin if someone calls me when I don’t feel like talking. Like just don’t answer the phone haha!
rmb, I guess I get mad because i feel obligated to call back. I still haven't called her. I haven't felt like talking. She can go on and on about nothing. I really have to be in the mood.
