Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

My anxiety has been so bad in the mornings lately. I wake up like someone shot adrenaline into my body and I just think of all bad, stressful things. It VERY slowly gets better during the day and by evening I feel normal. Then I go to bed, wake up and do it all over again. I read that your cortisol levels (stress hormone) are highest in the morning which is why a lot of people are more anxious in the morning. I was wondering if maybe I just have high cortisol levels in general. I read that can cause high anxiety/depression and other health issues... anyone have high cortisol levels that affects your moods? Thoughts? Suggestions?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Relaxation techniques are key to those who experience anxiety because anxiety can make the body tense and mind overwhelmed. Meditation, exercise, hot bath, distraction and doing things we enjoy all help calm anxiety. Deep breathing from the belly also helps relieve the fight or flight instinct caused by anxiety’s tension. I hope you are able to get help and find coping strategies that can bring you peace. Best wishes.
But that is me and every case is unique. Gentle support while you find what works for you.
Like Arfie, I had to change the way I start my day. I do relaxation breathing and gentle motion to give me the better balance.
I know staying hydrated helps me to feel better when I have those "off" feelings.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
